A morbid (but serious) funeral question

I know they make small stainless steel vials that you put on a key chain. That may be more of a possibility to drop in the water (lake, not a ride) or as a previous poster suggested into a flower pot.

I bet there are more people "spread" over Disney property than we know.
And the poster who said a 150 pounds is about 50 in ash, your very true. I know for fact a 230 pound man is about 90 pounds...and we spread it over the gulf of Mexico, sewanee university, it was mixed in with materials to make bricks at the hospital that he worked at, and my brother, mother, grandmother and I also have a little of him. He is also buried at Andersonville national cemetery.
Cremation can go a long way. It was his wishes, so we did as best we could.
My greatest memories of my father are at car shows, braves games, and the magic kingdom..and it has crossed my mind to take him to MK. But have never done it. Would rather he be here with me at home.

There are a number of companies which will have your creameted remains put into fireworks (including this company, http://www.heavensabovefireworks.com/). For the right price, I wonder if Disney would let you (or at least your cremated remains) actually be a part of Wishes or Illuminations (or any of the other nighttime shows with fireworks)... or even just a private version of one of those shows... would seem to be the ultimate (and probably exceedingly expensive) Disney send-off...

Throw my ashes in river country :)

Actually, tying into the previous suggest of Disney having a formal service for disposing of ashes (like a funeral version of the wedding pavilion) -- why not old Discovery Island? There isn't any plans to use that and it's logistically difficult to make that into a regular attraction. But if you designating it as a "leave your ashes here" place, the costs of use would be borne by those using the service.

Of course, perhaps its location in the middle of a body of water might be an issue.

This is my mother's ultimate last request (She's 67 and still alive). She wants me and my younger brother to take her ashes and spread them out in the planters around MK. While I think this is a great last request, I'm not going to run the risk of getting caught doing this in the parks. I'll come up with something that will less likely to get me in trouble.

I bet you could do it, very covertly if you really tried.
I read a blog last night that was basically a "how to" for sneaking in and smoking marijuana without being caught...and they did it multiple times...
If getting past security and finding a place that the smoke and smell doesn't alert ANYONE is that easy, you could fulfill her request, even with the help of others.
Still, the threat of getting in trouble is real when trying to do anything illegal or against the rules!

They could put the tombstones from Epcot on the island and build a columbarium near them. Memories of the living and the dead - for a price.
