Pre-Trip A moment of weakness…

Hello all!

You might’ve come here thinking “oh a PTR for her December 2024 trip, how lovely”

Not yet 😅

If you don’t know me from previous TRs, I’m Annie. My Disney crew typically consists of me, my husband Ian and usually our 2.5 year old Nora.

We booked our December 3-11 trip almost a year and a half ago (and have had two trips we snuck in since booking that one LOL). I feel like I’ve been counting down forever.

In short, that trip is STILL happening.

But…

Tomorrow morning Ian is leaving our home in Maine to work in San Diego for 5 long weeks 😭😭😭😭

And our 5 year wedding anniversary falls during that time period.

And I’m going to be solo parenting while working full time with a 2 hour round trip commute to the office every day.

It’s fine, I’m fine.

But tonight I had a full breakdown.

There was only one way to fix it…

We worked with my parents on Nora coverage, and booked an anniversary Disneyland trip just for me and Ian 🥹🫶🏻

So.. consider this the official 30 day countdown! When I’m crying daily from stress and missing Ian, I have this to look forward to.

Okay... THAT was stressful.

And also made me late for work lol

So, if I'm late anyway... let's keep this ball rolling and start my workday updating my PTR instead of my actual responsibilities 😅

As I predicted, our first park day (MK on 12/4) was difficult being a non-party day, but otherwise I think I did pretty well!

12/4 MK:
earliest I could get for something Nora REALLY wants to do was Dumbo at 11:05
our plan will be to RD Peter Pan and do some other Fantasyland attractions before our Crystal Palace breakfast at 9:40
we will do our Dumbo LL after that and see if anything else comes up, but otherwise we have:
Tiana 4:20 - 5:20
Mine Train 5:20 - 6:20
Haunted Mansion: 6:20 - 7:20
Then plan to do Happily Ever After!!

Initially, I was a little frustrated by the lack of morning options but I think we will have a more relaxed morning and enjoyable flow with CP as well. And knowing we take an afternoon break anyway, we will be well rested for our evening of fun!

12/5 AK:

I had originally planned for HS this day, but pivoted to HS for Saturday on a party day for lower crowds

We will plan to RD Everest. We have done this the past couple of trips - Nora has some breakfast and relaxes while we takes our turns!

Safari 835 - 935
Na'vi 940 - 10:40
Dinosaur 1040 - 1140

Probably do the Festival of the Lion King at 12 as our last must do before leaving the park. We will likely get Flame Tree BBQ for lunch as well!

We have a dining reservation for 6:35 PM at Mama Melrose, so we will go to HS for our second half of the day and plan for Fantasmic at 730 (hopefully) as well. We are pretty quick eaters if under fire lol

12/6: off day! only plans are swimming and Boma for dinner!

12/7 HS:

We will plan to RD MMRR on this day.

Alien Swirling Saucers 910-1010
Slinky Dog Dash 1010-1110
Toy Story Mania 1110-1210

We will definitely fit in the Frozen Singalong and the Beauty and the Beast show. Possibly Tower of Terror if we can swing it!

We have a reservation for Sci Fi at 630 on this evening and then will head out because of Jollywood Nights.

12/8 Epcot:

We will plan to RD Remy on this day

LWTL 9-10
GOTG 10-11
Spaceship Earth 11-12
Frozen 12-1

We have a dinner reservation at Via Napoli at 6:10 PM. We will try to make it for Luminous at 9!

12/9: off day!

Breakfast at Ohana at 930 and more swimming in the plans

12/10 MK (last day!)

Not sure our rope drop plan this day, we will see.

Buzz 9-10
Big thunder 10-11
Mine train 11-12
Pirates 1120-1220

Nora is doing BBB at 935 and we have a lunch reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern at 1230!

This is a party day, so we will see where we spend our evening!

12/11: travel home day :(

We end our trips at Chef Mickeys, so we have a reservation at 1030 with a flight home at 4 PM!


WHEW!!! That was a lot but I am glad it is OVER WITH lol and i can really get excited now!!!

I am encouraged that Tiana's was available for you. MK is also our first day and I am only going to purchase if Tiana's is available since we are focusing more on the Christmas decorations and things than on rides this trip.

Unfortunately, none of our days match up with yours.
