I was in there today and literally acted like a 5-year-old - running around looking at the Soundstage. I could have cared less about the Star Wars merchandise (especially since they didn't have the Muppets figurines)! :lol:

If I remember correctly you entered from the soundstage where Narnia is currently. When I did Backstage Pass they had the Home Improvement set and a Blue Screen demonstration. When the tour started you were on a Catwalk type walkway above the Home Improvement set and they did the demonstrations and then you walked out the door and across a walkway outdoors into the Tour Corridor. I remember the signs above the door in the Red/Back stripes with yellow writing (like they use elsewhere in the park) stating the No Cameras / Video Recording Policy. You then entered the corridor and walked thru Stages 3-1 and then exited and entered the Jim Henson Creature Shop. It could have been the reverse of this but thats how I remember it. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

LOL, sounds like me. I loved going into those Soundstages :D I really wish they would put it to good use. Such an amazing building.

I remember when the "Soundstage 1" sign actually meant something.

This almost—but not quite—gives me the same feeling as walking through the old WoL pavilion.

LOL, sounds like me. I loved going into those Soundstages :D I really wish they would put it to good use. Such an amazing building.

in the beginning the tram tour and the walking tour were all in one. it was hosted by goldie hawn and rick moranis, at the end you saw the short movie the lottery ticket with bette middler and then they showed you all the set pieces and how they made it. you exited in the same place as you did for 101 dalmations and the other various movie sets they would display. on the walking tour part i remember seeing mickey mouse club in production, wheel of fortune and from the earth to the moon, also a show like xena but i cant remember exactly. i miss that tour you notice that both universal and disney studios are going away from the backstage tour and more towards attractions. universal tried to do a tram tour like in CA but it didnt last long. thats the stuff i really wanted to see, real backstage!!!

The tour actually started next to animation and ended next to one mans dream or what was before that.

The memories of going on the Backstage Tour like 10 times in a row hoping to catch a glimpse of the Mickey Mouse Club members practicing. I swear, I went on that at least 10 times in one day...it got to the point that I had part of the Lottery Ticket short memorized!

I am glad to see that the sound stage is still there...it holds a lot of wonderful memories for me. :)

Do you happen to remember if Soundstage 1 was the MMC Soundstage? I can't remember if it was in there or one of the others. I've been searching to see if there was a list somewhere of the productions that took place in each of the stages but can't seem to find one.

If I can remember correctly, the last time I was in the viewing bridge they were shooting the Tom Hanks Movie/Series "From the Earth to the Moon". To see the detail of the late 60's/early 70's design and how small the sets were.
Not that you could take pictures, but I wish that I had some of that for the memories.

I have to agree with you. I would always take the tour at least twice when i was in that park. That is why when I was younger the Studios was my favorite park.
