Any idea whether the tree will have pacakages under it as it has in past years? (Not sure if it did last year, but in 2008 and prior, it did.)

Last year there were no presents; I would be be pleasantly surprised if they were there this year. I'm curious to see if anything gets put around the AA tree as well. Anyone remember the train set that for some unknown reason disappeared last year?

Pics from 2009 showing no presents or train:

Wow, they're really going out of their way to make Christmas at Epcot lamer and lamer each year. What's next? CP for dining packages only? No more Holidays Around the World Santas? Neither would surprise me. I mean, both would obviously be due to 'guest demand' or 'obsolete technology', of course.

Its already more or less like that most nights. Last year the line of guests with the CP dinner package stretched along the promenade PAST Japan, and this was for the last showing too. Its gotten to the point where its very difficult to see the CP unless you buy the dinner package.

I REALLY hope they don't have those flashing, spastic lights on the tree that they had last year. They were so bright and irritating, my mom and I almost couldn't even look at the tree :brick:

It's our favorite tree out of the four; it's so beautiful, and it doesn't need those pointless flashing lights on it! Regular Epcot Christmas tree, please :xmas:

Something is missing in those pictures..........:brick:

Seriously though, Christmas at EPCOT is really becoming a drag. It's like they're doing as little as possible to decorate. The presents around the tree, the Garden of Peace, the *thing I don't even have to mention*- it really detracts from the experience.

Well, without the *thing....* people can get a better photo of the tree (without the presents under [which were part of the stage set-up for the show that used to happen there during the Tree Lighting Ceremony]).

I was at Epcot last night (finished up my F&W passport - yay!). There were no presents under the main tree and no train under the AA tree. The sparkly lights were on the main tree.

At least they can go the route they went last year and it can be Christmas until mid Jan.
I'm okay with Christmas going from November 1 to January 15th...soon they will stretch it right until it's time to start of Flower and Garden. Every day is a celebration at WDW!

(I thought the reasoning on keeping the decorations up last year was b/c it was so cold in early January?)

:(

My mom is going to have a fit. How can they possibly think that those flashing lights aren't an eyesore to some people? Some people can't even look at regular flashing Christmas lights without getting a headache! :brick:

If my mom doesn't end up complaining to GR about it this year, I will:fork:
