A few nostalgic eyegasms from 1977

we actually pulled these out of the storage unit and put them up on the "big screen" the other night. It was a lot of fun for us to all look at them together and see how much things had changed. Our 9-year old DD was pretty confused and could not wrap her head around 20K Leagues or where exactly it was.

I miss that ride. Great photos. Seriously, I didn't mean to offend you. It was just a poorly placed joke on my part.

Water under the bridge....it just felt like mudslinging and I had to defend my integrity...moving on.
No worries. Was poorly placed on my end as well. On a side note, what did you use to convert your slides? I just got out of a major conversion project for my parents (Beta/VHS to DVD) and am moving on to the slides...and that project...is going to be massive.

Any thoughts?

It is an ION film 2SD http://www.amazon.com/FILM-35mm-Fil...e=UTF8&qid=1348444606&sr=8-1&keywords=ION+2SD that my wife got for me two years ago and I am just now getting off my butt to use it. It gets a little glitchy feeding slides but that may be due to the age of the slides themselves being warped from time and humidity. The process is like sorting M&M's...long drawn out and boring which is why I have not retouched them yet and now that I did that one carousel I realize I need to invest in some canned air and blow off the slides too. With any luck (and some crummy weather) I might get all 20+ carousels done this winter. Tedious at best but worth it to preserve our families memories.

Hrm...is the slide tray limited to 4 slides each as the picture indicated?

I was looking at one of these - http://www.amazon.com/Pacific-Image-PowerSlide-Scanner-5000dpi/dp/B0058ZOS2S

But that's a bit pricy for a one use object (though an important investment, I think). I have my parents slides, and my GPs slides to do, but I loved the fact I could load it with a tray and go away for a bit.

Also, what retouching, if any, are you planning to do? (this is turning into a private discussion, I'll end my queries here, we can move to another thread if you like)...

Thanks for posting these. I love pics from that era of WDW. It is the time in my life when I was hoping and begging my folks to take me there, but we never did make it.

Wait...what....?

Your picture is the same one that I posted a few days ago, but mirrored and not cleaned up yet.

Oh maybe this is like Parent Trap...and you'll find out you have the same grandparents and were raised by different families, lol....

have you considered transferring them to digital? i think its a great way to preserve these!
Yep, that is exactly what these are. I spent the afternoon scanning them into a SD card.
I found out all too late that they had dirt and hairs on them so I will have to go back and re-do them but I figured I might as well share anyway.

Finally getting around to converting my grandfathers slides to digital. I started with the tray of slides from our trip in August of 1977. I will be 41 next month and still enjoy it just as much today as I did back then. Not only is it a trip back in time but astounding that this was peak season of the time!!! Anyway, enjoy.

Not to worry I took no offense to your post, in fact it cleared up why there were Disney markings on the slide.

I do take offense to being accused of doctoring my picture with an effect by others though. There are around 150 slides in that album and I doubt I was able to do effects in all of those including inserting a chubby redahired version of myself from 30+ years ago.

Looked at your photobucket...at what hotel were the pictures taken?
