A Disney Park Channel?

It's random, but it's been on my mind...

I think it would be awesome if Disney made a channel separate from the Disney Channel, and Disney XD. A channel based on the parks. Like they could have behind the scenes shows, and like shows based on the history of all the parks around the world, the history of Walt Disney himself, what's coming to the parks, what's being changed or refurbed, what goes on during the refurbs etc.

Idk, it's just an idea

Disney Channel was created, to some degree, to do just what you described. Unfortunately, I guess Disney no longer sees a benefit in making such programs. :(

About the only thing you'll find are the specials that occasionally pop up on HGTV or the Travel Channel, and those are more infomercials than they are behind the scenes sneak peaks.

Thats true, the Disney Channel now is horrible. I mean the only good show is Phineas and Ferb. They need to bring mickey mouse back!

Considering I'm in love with those cheasy "Zip a dee doo dah Tip for today..." loops way back when, I'd probably love a Disney parks channel. :D

With all the parks in central Florida they should all pay for one channel to constantly advertise on. I know they did it on a channel in the Orlando area- so why not every/all of Florida?

Any other option aside from the two crap channels they have now. What the Disney channel has become is a disgrace. Every single time I scroll past, they are playing some form of suite life, or hannah. It is regoshdarndiculous. Toon Disney had some potential, but now that channel is crap as well.

There is a disney travel on demand option, but it is hardly ever updated, and the shows are of a poor production quality.

I miss donald duck and mickey mouse. The wimpy CGI versions do not cut it.

I would watch . A LOT . They could run some of the old world of Disney shows , too. You know , the ones that introduced Disney to us and made us love Disney. REAL family entertainment . And hopefully more " Modern Marvels " type quality shows , too.

Oh , yeah , MORE Mickey and Donald ,more Goofy ,more Chip and Dale , more Pecos Bill , Mr. Toad , Icabod Crane , ect... You get the idea ....

Oooh I do enjoy this..Let's reshow Walt Disney World Inside Out again and make newer episodes...While the latter seasons had JD Wroth, George Foreman and Brianne Leary were alright and was about both parks..I liked the original more.

Yeah I loved Disney World Inside out. I remember not having the Disney channel and we finally got it and that show was just about to be cancelled.

The new Mickey is such a sissy. It's really sad. What was wrong with the traditional Mickey?

Yeah, they had something like this in the 1980s and early 1990s. I remember Epcot Magazine fondly, a great inside program to the ins and outs of WDW's second park.

I'd love a Disney channel similar to what is available on the resort TV... I'd love them to just advertise their parks, history, resorts and new movies to me, some of the behind the scenes specials about the parks and movies... for a buck or two a month I'd probably buy it.

I don't think the channel would "make it" on normal cable tv... The channel would have to be a infomercial sort of channel and people don't generally like to pay to be advertised to.

Most TV channels are being funded and supported solely by the ad time they sell, right now, a number of channels are struggling to continue selling their ad time, as more and more viewers are being lost to internet based television, DVD rentals and Tivo are stiff competition... The commercials don't get the impact or viewership as they used to, hence their depreciation in value. I don't know if Disney would sell ad time to support the new content development for their channel or if they'd be able to sell much of it... Let's face it, most people who watch the Resort TV channels about the parks and such are the adults, who are looking for specific information... I don't think Disney would accept most of the advertisers that would appeal to that Resort TV audience base (like Viagra, Budweiser or Victoria's secret) based upon the products or the advertisements content and the association between Disney's wholesome family values and aforementioned products and commercial content...

Sorry, I've digressed all over the place... I would pay for a Resort TV channel at home... It would be a pleasant vacation from the everyday... It would probably be a lot of reruns and such, but it's the sort of stuff I could watch a lot.

I think you could have a "Classic Disney" channel that mixed that kind of thing in with re-runs of the old Mickey Mouse club shorts, classic cartoons and even stuff from the old Magical World of Disney. To me that would be really cool. And in a world where cable channels are targeting narrow audiences, it just might work in terms of having viewers. I agree though that it would be hard to find a revenew stream if you tired to make it a basic channel, a permium channel maybe.

I would love to see that! every time i need a disney fix i could just flick to channel ___. We have a channel here in england that's sole purpose is to promote an insurance company!! if they can find a way to make that financially viable then i'm sure disney could do something similar.

This is what the Disney Travel on Demand channel should be. I'd love to see more in depth reports about the parks and all the resort hotels.

I think it would be a fabulous idea. My t.v. would be on 24/7. Some of the old "Vault Disney" shows would be great. I'd love to see old Wonderful World of Disney shows showing Walt talking about the parks, etc. Sigh. :)
