A different Avatar?

Umm.,.Hey i've been searching around, and i'm not really sure how to get a different avatar for my name. Can somebody help with this? As you can see I already have a avatar, but I want a different one, but not sure how to get one. Is there a website that you guys get your avatar from? And does anybody know of a good website to get one? Thanks! Help!

I think most people probably make their own by editing an existing picture down to the proper size by using a graphics editing program. The limit is 150x150 pixels and 140K, I think. If you're not familiar with editing graphics, you may need to just stick with the defaults available, copy someone else's avatar, or get someone to edit one for you.

You can post an image that you want for your avatar and I ( or another member) will make it an avatar for you.

If you already have one, make check this thread out for instructions on how to change it...http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=135. If you plan on borrowing another person's avatar make sure you ask them first. Some may consider it stealing. :animwink:

Right click on that image and "SAVE IMAGE AS" and save it somehwere on your harddrive. then go to your control panel on wdwmagic and go to edit options,on the bottom there should be a catagory that says change avatar.when you get there there should be a "BROWSE tab click on that and get the file that you saved then click on "yes for using custom image or avatar,can`t remember how it is worded right now,then click on modify and that should do the trick!

HElP AGAIN! I did everything you told me to do, but it said this "The uploaded file is not a GIF, or PGI file, PLease ensure that it is" Something like this. HELP PLEASE! I really like this picture of Sir Hiss?

when I changed mine I searched the web and saved it to a disk (just like you've been told by others) It took me a few tries to find one the right size as I'm not really good at this. Keep at it. Everyone here is soooo helpful, I know you'll triumph.

1) Right click on the image and click save as...

2) When the dialog box show up, save it to your desktop so you don't have to do much searching for it.

3) Finally jump over the the user control panel and click on the change avatar button. Once you click on it, this window should pop up. Find the image and select it. From there it should be uploaded.

Look this is sord of making me upset, and all. I've followed all the directions that everybody gave me, but it's still not working. I really want this picture of Sir Hiss, but he won't show up. Guess i'll haved to live without him

have you checked the size if the picture you want to use? Some of the ones that had chosen were too large. I know there are ways to resize them (and people here who are willing to help). Don't give up yet. Is there somebody at home who can try...sometimes all it takes is a fresh outlook on things.

The image Bagheera posted is under 20K and is under 160X160 pixels. So it should work?!?

Sir Hiss...Let's try it the other way. Explain to us every step that you take. Start from saving to changing the avatar. Maybe we can help you along the way? If you recieve any error, let us know.Maybe it could be the file? Thanks

Make sure that the 'use custom avatar' button is selected after you've selected your picture.

I don't see why that would give you that error message though.
