Does anybody know how early the buses start to go to the park, i like to get there before it opens!!! and does anyone know if you can take a taxi from your hotel to Universal? and does anyone know the price of that trip? Being that me and my friend are only 18 we cant rent a car, so these answers would be appreciated!

Well I am not sure of the cost of a taxi, I do know that you should only take the Yellow Cabs because they are "disney trusted". Also, if you ask guest services I am sure they could call the cab company for you to order one, and I am sure at that time they could give you the approx. cost.

In the lobby of the Allstar Sports you can pick up the phone for MEARS and make a reservation to go to Universal (or you can get the # and call from your room). The round trip cost is approx. $12.00 per person. They will either pick you up in a bus or van. When Mears drops you off, they will confirm your pickup time and tell you where to be. Make sure you are there 5 to 10 mins before your scheduled time, we have been left behind before.

Disney Transport starts service at 7:00am for Early Entry and Character Breakfast busses.

Normal park service starts at 8:00am

Downtown Disney starts at 8:30am.

Note that these are the times the busses are dispatched... actual arrival time to your particular stop may vary.

First, welcome to the forums Donaldistheduck  . Although I have not gone from Disney to Universal myself...please be careful when using cab/taxi services. Our family has had several unusual experiences with the cab drivers around the parks/resorts. If you are set on using a taxi service, then make sure it is a trusted one, like the Yellow Checker Cabs. I would think you could get a better deal if you used a car service (there are many out there) from Disney to Universal. They are one set price and don't charge for mileage and time. We went from Epcot to DTD last May and with traffic, the cab ride was $18.00 (ridiculous!)...so just be careful. If you know you are going on a certain day, you can also plan that pick up and drop off ahead of time with a car service. Good luck and have a great trip.

Isn't there a free bus that runs from Disney to Universal, Seaworld and Busch Gardens?

Getting a 5 park flexi-ticket so I can see some of the other parks and I was told that there where free buses to these attractions, even though some of them are quite away away! :veryconfu

Whoa... sounds like someone got taken for a ride... no pun intended... Unfortunetly, there are some cab drivers who might not take the best route in order to charge a bit more... There are multiple ways out of Epcot, and ways to avoid that traffic, which is well known to happen.

Yep and those people were us. That is why I am sceptical of using the cabbies on property....any of them. At least with the car services you know in advance what it will cost. I suppose even the Checker cabs can have dishonest cabbies. We were not too happy with him...plus he dropped us off on the side of the road. Tons of traffic and he said it would save us time and money...???, we had already spent a small fortune to get across property, what was 5 more feet? :brick:

Sometimes, yes! :)

The only thing is that I never know where I'll be... The only thing I know is the time I work, and the hub that I report to. From there, I'm here, there, and everywhere! :)

I was wondering if I would have you as a driver when I go in May and June. I will have to check every drivers name tag. I am at the POR from May1-5 and the Boardwalk June 12-16th.

PM me a few days before you leave, and I'll let you know my schedule... I am one of the hardest people to track down, however, it is possible... I've met many people from here and The DIS... :)

I'm confused:confused:... Why would Disney offer free bus transport to their competitors? That would make absolutely no sense...

Not sure about other companies, but Disney does not provide this service.

Disney offers the transportation to the competitors because it always people to want to stay at a Disney Resort. Because they know they can have access to all other parks.

I talked to a cast member about that.... Hope that helps

No, Disney does NOT (and will not ever) provide transportation to a non-Disney theme park.
