Trip Report A Christmas in November, Food & Wine, Girls Trip!

Hi everyone! I had such a fun time posting my first trip report in May, (http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/completed-24-disney-hours-may-2015-trip-report.901428/)
that I’ve been looking forward to getting the time to post this one!

This time, my sister and I were joined by our cousin and my best friend!
From left to right...
Alyssa- Sister
Sam (me)
Emily- Best Friend
Michelle- Cousin

Alyssa has been wanting to visit for Food and Wine for a while but it hadn't worked out for her yet. Last year Emily and I did a VERY last minute F&W weekend and she loved it and couldn’t wait to go back. After months of working out our schedules we finally settled it around the first weekend of November. When talking to my cousin about it, she wanted to come to!

I was pushing for it to be this weekend so we’d get to see all the MK Christmas decorations and say our final farewell to the Osborne lights. The timing was perfect for everything!

THURSDAY-November 5th

Since it took a lot of rearranging of our schedules to make this trip happen and we’re coming from different places (NJ, PA, VA), we all ended up getting to Disney at different times.
I was up first though, which worked out since everything had to be in my name for my cast discount!

I arrived around 4pm, quickly picked up our rental car and was on my way!

Soon enough I made it to Coronado Springs, checked in, and dropped off my stuff.

View from our room:

I didn’t have to pick up my sister or cousin for a while so I ran off to Magic Kingdom! I couldn’t just sit there for hours waiting to go back to the airport while I could be looking at the castle dream lights!

When I got to MK, A Frozen Holiday Wish was just starting. I LOVED watching it last year so stood back on MK to watch the castle light up!
After the show ended while everyone headed away from the castle stage, I made my up there so I could get a good spot to watch and take pictures of my favorite…Dream Along With Mickey!

After DAWM, I had some time before Wishes and the next Frozen Holiday Wish, so I wandered over to make my customized magicband.

Purple is my FAVORITE color and I’ve collected every other color magicband so when I saw they had just opened and released these customizable magicbands and they came in PURPLE, I was sold! I also found it to be way more comfortable and flexible than the regular magicbands (which I never thought were uncomfortable until putting this purple one on:))

Our first fastpass was for Splash Mountain, we were a bit early so took even more pictures on our way over

An alligator (crocodile? I don’t know!) in the water in the water by frontierland! Thought that was so cool, haven’t seen that before!

We were still early for our fastpass but the wait was only 15 minutes so we went! I normally sit this one out- I like to avoid getting wet haha but it was hot and early and I didn’t want to miss out on the fun with everyone!

Emily hadn’t been on Splash before (the only time she was there, we only had half a day to spend in MK:() so she didn't know anything about it besides seeing it on Boy Meets World HA! Alyssa and Michelle were teasing her the whole time about when the big drop was:p

Before:

After:

Round one didn’t end out too bad, I was pretty dry at least;)

Round two was a different story…worth it though!!

After Splash, we crossed the park to ride the group favorite- the peoplemover!!

Then Monsters Inc. Michelle hadn’t seen this yet- I knew she’d love it, didn’t know she’d get picked on though! It was really funny!!

We really love this show, I love how it’s different every time and I always find the jokes hilarious.
I’m still walking around telling the pilgrim joke I heard there hahaha-
Why do pilgrams pants always fall down?
Because they wear their belt buckles on their heads!!
:D:D:D

After Laugh Floor we crossed the park again to hit our FP for big thunder mountain. Woo!
On the way Move It, Shake it was on again -
Does anyone here use the Disney Gif app? It puts a bunch of Disney Gifs as another keyboard in your phone so it is super simple to access. There are SOOOO many to choose from, I could carry on a full conversation just using the gifs.
Anyway- they have this one of King Louie and Baloo dancing in "I wanna be like you"
http://gph.is/X5yymY
The gif has become a joke between Emily and I wanting to recreate it for a long time but just never have hahaha. But when you're in Disney World, who better to dance with than King Louie and Baloo themselves?!!
It didn't work out as we dreamt, but we did get a picture with our friends in the background
[
we're so weird.. haha

NOW to thunder mountain!

Then after thunder mountain we ventured into fantasyland for our FP meeting with the princesses. My two favorites- Cinderella and Rapunzel!!

This princess interaction was one of the highlights of our trips!
On our walk over to Princess Fairytale Hall, we wanted to have some sort of plan- so we decided we would talk to them about Emily’s recent engagement and upcoming wedding! This turned out to be the perfect topic and both princesses were very fun about it.

Cinderella was SOOOOOO excited for Emily. She wanted to know everything! First asked to see the ring. Emily wasn’t wearing it and told her it was getting sized so showed her a picture of it. Cinderella loved it because it has a blue sapphire. Then Cinderella insisted on going dress shopping with Emily and was describing all the different dress styles she could pick from. It was really cute.

Then we went to see Rapunzel and she was skeptical from the first second! I don’t blame her though haha- she asked to see the ring right away and Emily said she didn’t have it on. Then showed her a picture of the ring in the box, Rapunzel wasn’t buying it so Emily found a picture of it on her finger but Rapunzel didn’t believe it was her haha.

this one makes me laugh so much - we're all trying to say something at the same time :p
[

She also asked why she didn’t have a “just engaged” button. We just hadn’t stopped to ask for one yet, and she said that should have been the first thing we did hah. Then Rapunzel asked where her fiancé is and she said he’s back at home at work- she didn’t think he really existed so Emily found a picture of her Save The Date. That’s when she finally started to believe her haha. In Emily’s save the date, her and her fiancé are sitting on a giant pumpkin though and Rapunzel made a comment about her taking Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage hah!

She was really fun- it was one of the most memorable meetings with both of these princesses!

Thank you so much! It was a fun and different dynamic adding my best friend and cousin this time!
I'm sad you never got to see the lights, it's so special! Many more pictures of them to come!

After our time with the princesses I really wanted to watch Dream Along With Mickey. Alyssa and Michelle went to look at pins I think while Emily and I found a spot for the show.

This is it. My absolute favorite spot on the entire planet.

Emily hadn’t seen DAWM before, so I knew she’d be willing to watch with me :) Alyssa gives me a hard time about watching it because we’ve seen it so many times, but I would be perfectly happy sitting in my spot, watching dream along with mickey all day.

haha:p

My favorite part:inlove:

the cutest!:inlove:
Say Minnie, would you like to join them?
Me? Oh no, I couldn't, i'm not a princess
Gosh Minnie, you've always been a princess to me

After DAWM, Alyssa and Michelle went to get a good spot for the parade while Emily and I stopped in several stores and City Hall with no luck in finding the “Just Engaged” buttons. We saw a few people wearing them and they said they don’t make them anymore but a few resorts still had them. Several people mentioned the Grand Floridian so we figured we’d make our way over there eventually to get one for Emily.

After the great "just engaged" button hunt we went over to Alyssa and Michelle for Festival of Fantasy.

I LOVE THIS PARADE. So much. Last trip, Alyssa and I managed to watch it where it starts in frontierland then sped over to Main Street to catch the entire thing again. We did this twice, ultimately watching the parade 4 times in one day (it was the 24 hour day with the parade running twice!). That’s how much we love it!

Cinderella's portion of the float wasn't working so we didn't get to see her :(
I know I just took a million pictures of her in DAWM, but still!!

I really like watching the parade from over here. If you love it and have to see it more than once it allows enough time to walk over to main street to see it again, but also I think it’s fun to be right where it all starts!

Today we had to speed over to main street before the parade got there, not to watch it again (sad) but to get across and get out of the park so we could make it to hoop dee doo by 4!!

This picture of Emily dodging people makes me laugh so much!

We got out of the park with no problem though and made our way to the boat. Thankfully didn’t have to wait too long and got to Fort Wilderness with plenty of time to spare

Emily knew one person from home was in Disney for a few days too (she had been following along on his snapchat) but they turned out to be at the same show for Hoop Dee Doo! So funny. We chatted with them for a little before we were all seated.

We’ve been here several times and it’s become a tradition for us to go each trip. We love the food, love the show, and love the drinks! We just always have such a fun time here.
Michelle was here once two years ago but it was the late show with two little ones that were tired so she didn’t get to fully enjoy it.
Emily has heard my sister and I talk about hoop dee doo all the time so when I threw out the idea of us going for this trip, Michelle and Emily were both instantly in!

This time, we were seated upstairs. It was all that was available when booking which wasn’t a big deal – I always wondered what it was like to sit up there. I didn’t realize though that along the sides, they are just long tables with your backs to the floor below. So you eat facing the wall, and have to turn your chair to watch the show. Felt like it’d be weird but actually was fine once it all got started.

Every time we’ve gone has been a great experience with the waiters, but this time from the second we were seated the waitress had a problem with us.

First off, they seated us at two separate tables. Two of us with another family, and two of us at a long table by ourselves...it just made no sense. It’s not like the place upstairs was packed and there was no other option. So naturally we asked if the two sitting at the other table could move down with us since we had this other long table with nobody else around. She was very rude about the whole thing and finally with an attitude slammed down the silverware and plates so the 4 of us could be together. Throughout the entire show, she wouldn’t bring our drinks, (I still never got my water I asked for when we first sat down ha), my sister had asked for something mid-show and the waitress rolled her eyes at her with a snarky comment. She was just very rude the entire time, and she was giving the table next to us a hard time too:(

Despite that, the show was fantastic as always!! I feel like we had even more interaction being upstairs than downstairs. We all laughed so hard and had a great time! The food was delicious as always and that sangria...yum!!

After hoop dee doo, we headed back to the boats to spend the night in Magic Kingdom!!

After an already long day, plus a few drinks, we were all a little sluggish haha.
Alyssa and Michelle stopped at starbucks for all of us while Emily and I went to get spots for A Frozen Holiday Wish.

i love this one with the hand in the air - they're showing how i'm feeling on the inside while snapping pictures haha

Are all the pictures showing up for everyone? Trying to figure out why several are now just showing up as empty boxes...hmmm :(

But now to end this super long day at MK!

After visiting Anna and Elsa, we decided it’d be a good time now to go grab a spot for Celebrate the Magic and Wishes!

I really really love the new hub layout. It’s amazing all the space that it’s freed up. Where we ended up standing, in years past, would be jam packed shoulder to shoulder. This time, it was so nice to actually have room, and still a good view. Makes it all more enjoyable!

After Wishes we went over to Dumbo!! Always so fun

Then with no wait to meet Ariel, we got to see her! My cousin’s favorite!

A typical picture with Emily saying something ridiculous and funny, and all of us (including Ariel) laughing hahaha

There was seriously nobody in line at Journey of the Little Mermaid so we went on that too! They actually had to start up the ride for us since it was empty!

We wanted to do the Mine Train but the wait was pretty long still at the end of the night and we didn’t want to miss the electric parade. So we bypassed it, headed through new fantasyland with a stop in the prettiest place to show Emily and Michelle Rapunzel’s restrooms haha

Then hopped in doombuggies for a ride through the haunted mansion!

By this point the park was closed so we walked over to get a spot in Frontierland for the electric parade.

There was really nobody around, we had our whole section to ourselves! I love that for the late parade:)
