WDI is currently considering converting Journey Into Your Imagination - into - Journey Into Michael's Imagination. :lookaroun
As for the never-ending did he/didn't he debate, the fact is that allegations were made by those who simultaneously sought large monetary payouts - and whether true or not - that fact of a combined financial motive will forever stink as bad as the utilidors below the Magic Kingdom.

Also, no one is immune from allegations, including Walt Disney himself. A review of some historical/biographical literature makes this clear. Of course, I dare not go an further on that issue because, on this board, that would be considered utterly blasphemous. :zipit:

haha wow.

I never got to experience Captain EO either...thanks to my parents knowing all about the allegations the first time I visited EPCOT, they decided against us checking out the attraction. I'm looking forward to getting to see it, cheesy or not.

Michael may have been 'out there', but he was a genious.

I am looking forward to seeing it again. I saw it in it's first run and was sad when they took it out. What they replaced it with stunk. I chalked it up to typical Disney: We have to keep things new and exciting so lets take something that is cool and replace it with something that isn't. Does the technology compare with todays? Of course not. Is it a little cheasy in 2010? Probably. However for some of us old folks, it's a little tour of our younger years. It's called nostalgia. Unfortunately Michael had to die for his legacy to acceptable again. I think a lot of the radio station djs owe him an apology. A lot of his so called fans jumped ship when the allogations started and stayed away even after he was proven innocent. But now they are playing his music again and talking of his legend. I believe he was one of the most talented entertainers that ever lived and I am glad that I can now hear his music on the radio again but I think it's sad that he needed to die for this to happen. As far as skeletons in a closet, who doesn't have them. Elvis (another very talented entertainer) was an addict. Sinatra (yes, I am a fan) was linked to the mob. The list can go on. I have read stuff about Walt Disney as well. Is it true? I don't know. Also if Walt was going to roll over in his grave, this would be the reason. I give you: 20,000 leagues and Mr. Toad's Wild ride exit from the park. Not to forget, what they did to pirates or should I say the Jack Sparrow ride. Did we have to put Johnny Depp all over the ride?

I just spend a few days at Disneyland (converted my WDW AP to a Premier Pass...) mostly just so I could see Captain EO again, show my girlfriend Captail EO for the first time (she has always loved MJ), and to ride the better version of Pirates...

The movie rocked. We booked the trip before EO was announced for it's return to Imagination...so we will see it again in October. EO was better than I remember it. What a wonderful representation of what the 1980s were all about. Wonderfully tacky.

I personally don't remember the Imagination pavilion having the effects that the Tomorrowland Theater in DL having. The seats violently rumbled, the lights in the room mirrored explosion effects...pretty cool.

It was a good blast from the past. Well worth it. How George Lucas went from making this to making such a crappy prequel trilogy is beyond me

Seriosly though, it was fun. I hope it brings good tiding to Imagaination.

We are going sometime late July and I am looking forward to my trip down memory lane. Yes, I will buy a shirt. I hope they have a plain white shirt with the Captain EO logo. I think it was a good decision to bring it back for a limited time. I rarely go to Epcot. If I do go it's just to eat at one of the worlds but I am making a special trip there for Captain EO. I might try and do the Kim Possible thing too.

Well I just watched the movie online, and it is sad that Disney is going to bring back something that outdated. They should reshoot the movie using 2010 technology.

MORE MJ? REALLY!? Oh my god. Enough. Let the man rest in peace and stop making up excuses for the fact that the ride is back like it's some sort of tribute. It's there to make money. I'm so sick of hearing about the guy. He freakin died on my graduation!

Um, is that not the purpose of everything that exists at Disney? :brick: Disney is a business, which might be why admission is not free. :hammer:

There sure are a lot of people in this thread who are skeered Michael Jackson is going to come out of the big screen and touch little boys.

I don't remember the 3D technology being that advanced.

I am not going to pass judgement on MJ, but would showing say Hiltler movies be a good thing? Not saying MJ is Hitler, but your smart enough to get the point.

Or should we all hold babies off balconies?

MJ is not someone to idolize, then again no man is.

In that case, there are a few Presidents that you should request be removed from the Hall of Presidents. :brick:

Also, you may want to be careful with your analogies. Referencing a historical figure that implicates anti-Semitism on a Disney themed message board... Not saying that Walt was ... but you're smart enough to get the point.:zipit:

Um, have you seen the posters here? Get ready for oversimplified responses and fake outrage, knee-jerk reactions, and calls for thread locking and your banishment.

Yes, from time to time. As you see I have a very low post count for a 2002 registration.

To each their own, and since I do not own this web site, if the webmasters of it deems such, so be it.

True. And if the poster above you really feels that way, then he or she simply can skip epcot on his or her upcoming trip. Or just get prepared, because ready or not, here it comes. :D
