Actually, yes, when Dumbo is first named, his name is "Jumbo Jr." implying there's a Jumbo Sr. We just never see him. It's the bitchy elephants that give him the name "Dumbo".

Hehe, I can be scientific. :lol: Elephants are polygamous...the male elephants have absolutely nothing to do with the raising of the children (wham, bam, and they're gone). Elephants are also very maternal...the babies stay with their moms for a LONG time. Thus, from a scientific standpoint, "Jumbo Jr." should have had absolutely no idea who his father was and should have had a very close relationship with his mother. Both of these were true in Dumbo.
