A adult hidden message in Lion King 1 1/2!!!

I just watched the movie & decided to see if there was a thread about it. Imagine my suprise when I found this one....

Its a cute movie, told from Timon & Pumba's point of view.

I guess you could find homosexual overtones everywhere...am I gay because I kissed my female friend after not seeing her in a long time? Is my husband gay because he slept on the ground next to a fellow firefighter after a very harrowing night?

Please......................

Just my 2 cents...I'm outta here.

Remember the original Lion King was stamped as being racist because the villain Scar had a black mane and the hyenas were a metaphor for Hispanic street gangs.

These theorists failed to point out that the Lion King was voiced by a black man, Scar by a white man and a selection of races were behind the Hyena’s characters.

You can twist most things to suit your own agenda.

I'm not trying to attack the movie at all... Just saying there is some adult humor. Most kid movies do this, the jokes just fly by the kids heads. Yes the kiss part was a parody of lady and the tramp, but I feel it was wrong to have that in a Disney movie. Whats next? Ariel kissing Bell? lol... Or Mickey kissing Donald? Come on... Do we really need to have that? Yes the dress part is from the HULA scene, but Timon's uncle had this look on his face of disgust.

Unless this is someway of Disney trying to brainwash kids that its better to be a homosexual, live and sleep with your best friend, and adopt a kid. Not only Disney add the thought of being banashed by your family because you where "different", they even had to add the always loving mother, no matter if your different or not, she still loves you.

Timon stops the movie at certain parts and crys with pumba about touchy romantic parts-Like the part when they stared into each others eyes? lol
Yes it was funny... But was it really needed for a kids movie?

On a lighter note, it seems (to me anyway) that the majority of Disney Movies all deal with broken families. Am I just imagining this???

Bambi's mom died, Simba's dad died, Tarzan's parents were killed, Jungle book boy (name escaping me) had no parents, Andy in Toy Story- all you see or hear is his mom, Nemo's mom died, Lilo was raised by her sister, Stitch had no mother, Belle had no mom, don't recall seeing a mom in Little Mermaid, Cinderella's parents were dead, etc. Is this a trend or what.

Let the spin begin.

So what's the deal? You can't have a good movie with a complete family? There's a good lesson for us all. Now,now, take that with a grain of salt. My guess is that if you had a happy family that came to each others needs in times of trouble, this would disciminate against those who do not have a family? Hot or Cold?

hhhmmm... at least those listed cartoons are like that. I remember we took my 3 year old nephew to see Nemo and when the mother dies, he looked at us and told us "what happened to her??" with such a surprised face that we seriously thought about leaving the theater. After seeing it on video countless times, he now sees it as 'normal' and loves Nemo... go figure...

Dont forget....
Aladdin and Jasmine-Both do not have mothers.
Ariel-Only has her father.

The only normal character I can think of who had both parents is Sleeping Beauty-FORGOT NAME lol.

No one really knows whats up with this trend in Disney Movies.
Thats unless it makes it have a better plot.

Quasi Moto (like that's spelled right) is an orphan, the Aristocats only have a mom (until the end of the movie). I don't know about Treasure Planet or the characters in Atlantis (older group anyway), but I guess Hercules had both Godly and real parents so maybe that compensates for them all. Was Dumbo all alone?

Dumbo had his mom and while he was ridiculed by all of the other adult elephants, his mother still loved him, but I don't remember there being a dad...

I though the movie was "FUNNY" and humorous.
But...
The only problem I had was that disney was adding a hidden message throughout the movie-Tumon and Pumba are both "GAY"!?!?

This is what I found-
1.Tumon is banashed by his family because he is "DIFFERENT" (Only his mother loves him)
2.Later Tumon runs into Pumba-Pumba says hes "DIFFERENT" also.
3.Tumon and Pumba set off on a adventure to find Akuna ma tata.-On the way there Tumon says "This can be like a... Aquantince." He was about to say relationship...
4.When they arrive at Akuna ma tata-Tumon sleeps with Pumba and ends up kissing him while they are eating.
5.Tumon and Pumba end up adopting-Simba-"They are now parents"
6.When Tumon finds out that Simba has found himself a girl, Nala-He ends up freaking out about it. Like he hates girls or something, hes disgusted untle he sees Simba happy.
7.Finally Tumon runs into his Uncle again and his mother-Tumon is wearing a dress, his uncle looks disgusted while his mom just ignors it. They also meet Pumba, and the same reaction occurs again.

I think its odd that Disney is adding these adult messages... But even my little 10 year old brother noticed it.

Anybody else?

1-He is banished cause he is tired of getting yelled at for knocking down tunnels, and doesnt think that's for him. He just wants a different way to live his life.

2-Pumbaa is different cuz he also left his family. Im different in alot of ways too, but that doesn't mean that I am gay.

3-Most likely, he was going to say "Friendship", as they were not really friends yet, just acquantinces.

4-They dont end up kissing intentionaly. It was an obvious spoof of Lady and the Tramp, and if you didnt see it afterward, they didnt enjoy the kiss...They were both grossed out.

5-They are not parents, just guadians. They're raising the young one, and happy with doing it, but it doesnt mean that they are a couple.

6-Timon doesnt hate her, Timon is just worried it will "Split up the Hakuna Matata". They were happy just the 3 of them, why would they want to ruin that?

7-It's natural in alot of cartoons. Boys in dresses is just funny to some people. The uncle is a military kind of guy, and that's why he said that. When I was little, my brother used to walk around in my moms high heels (I think he still does:lookaroun ) and we all thought it was hilarious. The only reason they donned the dress in the first place was to distract the hyennas.

Whatever Timon and Pumbaa are, they ended up happy anyways, with their family.

The Disney character Im REALLY wondering about...PLEAKLEY!:lookaroun

oh geeze..NOW what are people gonan complain about?

look. i had sleep overs as a kid and yeah i'ma guy. my 10th birthday is a prime example. we sat around, played SEGA Genesis then went to bed. i had a bunkbed, that's the only space we had left. 4 guys, 2 beds. you do the math.

did any of us turn out gay? well, i can only speak for two of us and no. we didn't.

heck, i even CRIED when my best friend Tim told me he wasn't staying at the same kiddie korner anymore.

should disney be the one giving them the message? i dunno. some parents don't. some parents don't even TALK to their kids, let alone discuss homosexuality.

Ahhh! This thread is so frustrating! Can we not analyze these movies in that way.

All I know is, we showed this movie to over 60 kids yesterday at the After School care program I work for and all of the children loved it. That should be the most important thing!

There are other more important and serious issues we have to worry about then to consider if we should let our children watch a rated G Disney movie, which is about love and friendship and nothing more!

Well, there HAD to be, unless the science of elephant breeding was different. :lookaroun j/k

Actually, yes, when Dumbo is first named, his name is "Jumbo Jr." implying there's a Jumbo Sr. We just never see him. It's the bitchy elephants that give him the name "Dumbo".

So much for private home viewing:lol: Im just kidding. Im glad they enjoyed it though. My sister and I have watched nearly 8 times this week (7 1/2 lol) and we both love it.

But I dont think we need to be worrying about a CARTOON CHARACTER'S sexuality, when they arent even drawn the parts that make them what they are
