A 5th Major Park?

The Studios could pretty much be a brand new park if they'd do something with it. Bulldoze the entire "Streets of America" and Backlot tour area and put about 10 top-notch attractions in their place.

Both DHS and DAK have massive room for expansion, they need to work on the current parks first.

One thing to keep in mind though, some of this land may be in conservation easment. When we're talking about DAK, remember that it has to be large for the animals. The africa section in dounded by the WDW Horticultural area and I'd imagine there are other support facilities that don't show up on the map.

As for DHS, I'm not entirely sure there's as much land there as you may think. About the only area where they could begin an expansion would be to wrap around the cast parking area. It's not like they can expand towards Coronado Springs as there's a highway in the way.

Walt Disney bought a lot of land so chain hotels and bars wouldn't spring up and be visible to his parks. Some of this land is "buffer" land to help keep the magic, magic.

Related to this point, is there anyone that has an idea as to what % of the property they've already built on?

Not sure how accurate this map is, but is the land west of Magic Kingdom part of the property? What about the space NW of EPCOT? Or the land North of Coronado Springs? Are these golf courses or something?

I have to believe that disney will build a fifth park and it will be great and it really shouldn't matter if the other parks are thought to be lacking attractions. As time goes on they will expand those other parks as well.

If over time they average a new big attraction every 4 years at each of the parks or 1 per year come twenty years from now Epcot and MK will be huge 2 - 3 day parks and DHS and Animal kingdom will be great solid 1 day parks a 5th gate will let families spend a full 2 weeks and not see everything.

If they want to keep selling time shares and keep families from selling the ones they have they will need to keep priming the pump.

I agree with so many others that I would prefer to see additions first to DHS and AK and some new countries added to Epcot, and I think that will happen even if they plan a fith gate.

Here are some things I'd like to see happen.

Add an Australia, and South America to the animal kingdom Each land with 3 rides and a show.

Build a new world of color type show at Epcot
Add two rides to England 1 features the beatles, 1 a christmas carol
Add Russia, Egypt ( a ride featuring aladin and a trip through the cave of wonders ride), and India (Jungle Book ride something similar to splash mountain) to world showcase

DHS add to pixar place Monsters inc land like carsland featuring several c -rides and eticket coaster. Get rid of LMA and replace with Carsland

Replace indy show with Indy ride, change the sci-fi diner into Starwars cantina add additional starwars type attraction

WDW add the ride they are putting into china disney into frontier land north of Big Thunder then add house of the weird and adventurers club so that you could walk around the rivers of america.

Anyone like those ideas and yes that is what I prefer to call twenty years of expanding.

I find that with the four major parks, 2 giant water parks, hundreds of dining options, and tons of places to buy gifts, Disney has managed to suck my wallet/credit cards dry.

If another theme park were to be built, I would have to resort to bank robbery to fulfill my Disney vacation dreams.

So I say, no more parks, just improve and expand on the ones we have.

Could not have said it any better. I think if you keep pushing ideas just to get a new park out, it won't have the same feel as the parks we love. Even the most creative people in the world can dry out that creative well.

I really Like your Ideas, they should do things to improve the parks.

Like Tomorrowland I think they need to put more stuff I find its kinda a little empty there.

As said, Sports is growing, and Disney is in no place to make another park in Fla, right now. Our parks need too much.

Well attendence would drop at DHS and DAK for sure so less rev from the other parks. If the other parks started to deteriorate then I think there would be a drop.

It'd have it's boom, just like the rest of the parks did, and then fall into the same state as the ones have now, though.


However, I would expect it to stay very close to it's original theme and "goals"....Much like DAK did. I suspect that's because not much has been added to detract from that. :lol:
