It's almost like they have data that we don't see...

;)
With the exception of the first and last sets of parties, it looks like they just added $10 across the board to the remainder of the parties. In terms of additional parties, I think the past couple of years they were burned with Hurricane closures that canceled party nights. This was a way to mitigate those losses.

They got some racket going on here. MK does very little to create these parties. Is it my imagination or are there less candy stations these days?

Compare this to what HHN at Universal does. No comparison.
I can't think of a better example of someone manifesting "comparing apples to oranges."

A very scary horror fest is nothing like a campy not-so-scary romp. They're literally incomparable. Might as well say the Haunted Mansion is mid.

And MK does little?
  • An exclusive parade
  • An exclusive fireworks show
  • An exclusive castle show
  • Exclusive character M&Gs
  • A bunch of smaller shows and attractions
  • A holiday overlay of some attractions
  • Less than capacity number of guests
And even if there is less candy stations, you can get back in line as many times as you want. There's no rationing going on.

If you're going to keep trying to find ways to score points against Disney, try facts next time.

I can never score points against the Penguin. The Penguin always wins ;)

These events are different but they are generally Halloween events.

My comparison was work involved to prepare for the events, not the kind of the event.

Your MK list looks impressive but in my opinion there is more work involved to build HHN compared to MNSSHP.

Just my opinion.

It's definitely fair to say they don't change things up enough, that if you have gone the past couple of year, really not much new this year .... but to say there isn't much offered is definitely not accurate

And even if they reduce the number of treat trails they are now using scoops ... I have never heard someone say they didn't get enough candy at this event

Definitely more work/effort int he prep for the houses and obviously a lot of talent with the scare actors

I think both offer plenty to guests attending the events, but I think fair to say more "work involved to prepare" for HHN

Wow... the average ticket price of the event jumped 7.5% compared to last year. I'm still shocked at how much this event has risen in price... in 2017, the average price was $89 (92% increase in less than a decade).

It's virtually the same event lineup.

I love both MNSSHP & HHN... but there's no comparison when it comes to the level of attention to detail/work HHN requires each and every year.

Well... businesses be businessing.

If every night sells out, they haven't found the tipping point in which customers decide not to attend.

Feel like Im stuck in an endless cycle - i get through to my cart, there are now 16 tickets in there as I had to keep refreshing an adding, now figured out I can simply go to cart, but that keeps crashing every time i try to change from 16 to 4 ..... get the feeling its not going to end well.
Welcome to Disney's A+ IT!!

They did reduce capacity post Covid so there is the benefit of lower crowds (be it for treat trail lines, time to line up for entertainment, ride queue, etc) ... So not exactly apples to apples with that specific increase %

But even over the past couple years, other than the (few) cheapest dates it really has increased

I just bought my tickets knowing exactly what I’m paying for. I don’t see how that’s a racket.

Perception of value is a highly personal matter. I have no interest in Universal’s parties and am happy with how I’ve spent my money.

This is my take. It’s absurd how much it has increased and IMO, pushing $200 a person is a really hard sell. But as long as people pay they will see what the limit is that they can charge.

A 6.6% increase in average ticket price from 2024 to 2025, not 7.5%. That is an incorrect calculation. Unless my spreadsheet calculations got moved around, I can show my work tomorrow. 😉

Yeah, you were right. What Penguin fails to address in his list is exclusive makes no difference as hhn's ent is exclusive too.

Specifically, HHN delivers entirely new exclusive themes and storytelling in ten houses and scare zones each year with other entertainment as a bonus.

It's not like Disney's shows and parades are all new every year.

On my path to becoming “Dr. Disney”, - my Master’s thesis “Is Disney Expensive?” was followed by my PhD dissertation titled “How Much Should You Tip at Disney?” For which, Mrs. Shields awarded me an A + + +

Based on my thorough research I can confidently state that your numbers check out.
