Some people aren’t planning on flying anywhere so getting their Real ID isn’t / wasn’t a priority.It was made a law in 2005. The first compliant deadline for states was 15 years later in 2020. If people still aren’t compliant 20 years later in 2025 ….they’ll never be.

oftentimes we like traveling with a lot of stuff for even a week (probably too much stuff when we travel) , and often we enjoy getting more stuff so it's usually easier for us to drive. George Carlin's soliloquy comes to mind when I talk like that
Why the rush? Unless you are planning on flying soon you don't need it. Just because there is a deadline to need it doesn't mean you can't get it next month.
Not what I was saying. The deadline is May 7th. That's the deadline you can no longer use your regular license to fly. That doesn't mean you can't geta real ID 3 months from now.
If you use your valid passport you are good to go. That’s another form of Real ID.
I’ve read only 48% of Americans have a valid passport so for the other 52% they’ve got to get a move on it if need be to get that drivers license to be a Real ID.
I like our DMV which is online appt only. I think that NJ DMV is first come first serve so get ready for long waits ? You mean get the attendant to fill your tank
