Hello all,
Apologies in advance for the question, I'm sure it must have been discussed already, but frustratingly searching (here and on the web) turns up nothing definitive.

I'd like to plan a trip just to experience TSI one last time before it closes, but I cannot seem to find a firm closing date. Is there anything published by Disney on this yet?

Much TIA
Rick

Based on the current level of clarity from Disney, it could close anytime between 2025 and 2125.

Hopefully, Florida drags out the permit and environmentally process so much, Disney will change their mind.
I personally feel they are on a fast track to deal with Epic Universe. Seems like they are scrambling to catch up....
I'd like to get the visit in sooner rather than later. I would just like to know if can wait till the spring or not.

We know they are already behind in this "In development, dirt is moving" project. This project still does not have the proper government approvals and has 90 days from when they attempted to file the permits to fix it.

Lets hope they just drop this stupid cars thing and focus on actually expanding the park and start Villains land ASAP

But this destruction of the placemaking of multiple lands of the park is not going to deal with Epic Universe... They have known about Epic for many many years and had time to come up with something but chose to wait... A Villain's themed coaster and a couple gift shops, and a Cars off road rally ride and a couple gift shops is not going to up Disney's game enough to compete with a whole new from-the-ground-up Theme park with all new state of the art rides and attractions... Adding a replacement for Chester and Hester and a re-skin of Dinosaur, while nice, is also not adding any new capacity to the park... DHS getting a Monsters Inc. coaster will be great, but again, it is one thing...in a park that desperately needs new attractions...

Fastrack and Disney building anything is a oxymoron..

And Iger has said many times, TWDC has "already responded" to EPIC with things like Galaxy's edge and Pandora.

Iger has said many times, he is not worried, concerned about EPIC.

Iger, like many times in the past, WILL BE WRONG in his thinking.

how do you NOT compare the new core of EPCOT to Celestial Park? They tore down most of the core and cleared the land....they could have built anything....but this was the best that the Imagineering team (and accountants) could come up with... Knowing Epic was coming.... knowing the world was watching...

True! Iger is also very proud of the “successful” EPCOT renovation that was also a response to EPIC and is another reason why Iger is not worried about EPIC.

Yes I know, the question is when TSI going to close. I would like to plan a trip before that so I can experience it one last time.

I'm sorry, but I haven't seen any firm dates on when they plan to close TSI to start work on Carsland. I did see someplace a plan to have completed the projects by 2027, but even that was more of a rumor than a firm date. Hopefully, someone with some inside knowledge will reply to your question.

I'd just say that you should probably plan your visit for sooner rather than later. If the Epcot spine project has shown us anything, it's that WDW doesn't mind having long periods with construction in progress.

i don't see how they can possibly complete a total demolition, and then from the ground-up build a whole new "Farther West" Auto parts mountain range and attraction in 2 years.... It too about a year and a half to re-skin Splash mountain with no no major demo or rebuild comparatively... I would think this project would take much longer based on the 4 years it took for the construction of SWGE...so if they begin in January with the demo, 2029 would seem to be the soonest we could expect any sort of completion...unless the final plans are way less ambitions than they concept art...

We're locked into a DVC rental for our next trip the first week of February, so hoping it manages to stay open at least that long. I'd really like to experience Frontierland as is one more time.

Disney never starts a project late, nor do they start a project early, they start a project precisely when they mean to.
