Well now that it’s settled and we know Muppets 3D will be destroyed, we have only a 5 to 7 year wait to see what replaces it

I literally work with the guy and know him personally now, and I can tell you this is false. He will be negative if he wants to. It's okay if you don't like the guy, I'm not saying you have to, but assuming he is always positive is false.

I will say that since the structure of Monstropolis fits the footprint well, this should help with a relatively quicker build for Monsters. The door coaster is going to be built essentially on backstage land/parking so could be started quite quickly. Pizzerizzo and Mama Melrose will simply be changed to a different restaurant theme but presumably continue to be largely intact. The Christmas store gets converted to other retail. The large Muppets store just gets torn down (and its in a weird position anyway). Muppetvision gets changed into a new show but presumable can reuse the theater largely as is.

The rest of Grand Avenue outside the Muppet area (Sci-Fi and such) can simply remain as is and not be touched.

What do you mean by wishy washy? He liked the original ride but also likes the new one. He was very vocal with his "let them cook" attitude. His opinion never changed much past the initial announcement, aside from feeling it didn't fit in Frontierland, which iirc he still feels that way but isn't as bothered by it.

No kids know who Aerosmith is either. This is essentially a lateral move to something with more relevance to ppl on a Disney Vacation and a better merchandising opportunity.

It's a cheap retheme for probably a fairly big boost to interest in the ride. It makes sense on paper. It's just not a bombastic expensive retheme. It's kinda refreshing to see them do this

Putting aside the reasons I think you’re wrong from a purely business perspective… I absolutely do not care if an area of the park maximizes guest spending or in any other way fattens Disneys wallet. Frankly, it’s a weird and possibly unhealthy way for a fan - a consumer - to think.

Monstropolis will be a net-positive, the Door-Coaster is a brand new attraction, and seems to be expanding the park berm. We also discuss this a lot on here, but replacing a poorly performing attraction with something more popular is a capacity addition, as the capacity at MV3D is mostly going unused.

Is that why MV3D was 2/3 full on a random day in September, which is typically a slow month? It must only be unused during the busy times, then.

A new CEO takes control in 2026. Economic policy changes beginning in 2025 are going to cause the cost of construction to skyrocket and may crater the economy as a whole. Nothing that is slated to begin construction after 2025 should be considered close to certain - no Villains Land, no phase 2s, no Muppets Coaster, nothing.

Remember what the pandemic did to the Epcot redo in particular and the last wave of significant investments into the parks in general? The current situation is even worse, because the disruption is forseeable.

To me, Muppets ToT is seamless. The characters can fit right in. Just redo the film to have muppets instead of people. It would also be less scary (not that it is), and more family friendly. Gonzo and Rizzo do the pre-show, Miss Piggy and others are the guests who are zapped.

What do you mean by "get rid of Twilight Zone finally"? I hope the theme always stays. Hollywood Tower of Terror in Hollywood Studios. I mean, come on! Look, I loved my cruise on the Fantasy last year but maybe you should stick to Disney cruises.
