Whether or not it underdelivers isn’t the point. The point is Disney is already light years ahead of the competition. While universal is (hopefully) just hitting a creative renaissance. I don’t even disagree on some of the projects they’re referring to being flawed in some areas but the momentum is there. And 5 years isn’t that long in the grand sceme of things especially when a good part of your audience couldn’t go for 5 years because of Covid-19.

I agree, saying other wise would imply that Disney doesn't have any lands/attractions on par with Epic.

How does this response make any sense to you?
All in with travel…your looking at like $4,000 for a family of 4 in the least booked time period of the year at all stars for less than the standard week

That’s not “nothing” or “pretty damn cheap” for the audience they need to have.
shtick

But far be it from me to ever point out grammatical mistakes...
That’s the sure sign the argument is lost…grammar = break the glass

I don’t think it’s worth typing 10,000 words to try and break down the context of how we should judge “momentum” when it comes to wdw history.

And since 70% of it predates you…where are you getting the basis for your stance?

Please don’t say vlogs or pods? 🙄🙏🏻

So let me get this straight (from the jokers mouth)…

Avatar announced in 2011…opened in 2017
That’s 14 years from announcement and 8 years since opening

Star Wars: non-descriptive (nowhere’s edge) abramsland
Announced in 2015, opened in 2019
So 10/6

Tron announced in 2017 and opened in 23

8/2

And guardians 2017/2022
8/3

Maybe he did mean “offensive” the other way? Because that’s a rather pathetic track record for 4 parks over that period. They did shut some things down without replacement…some socially acceptable reskins…and Rat…

…yeah…still bad.

Now I invite anyone giving this any credit to do your research and realize what they’re doing. And it’s not good for the customers

A great example to watch is Big Thunder Mountain - it closed this year for refurbishment -- really for maintenance and track replacement. This is a less than one year job -- how many years for it to reopen. If 3 - you can pick me up from the floor.
Disney does nothing quickly. What is the old saying? "the work fills the time allotted". So goes new venues.

Average form announcement to actually completing an attraction but average 3 years to build a DVC holiday inn ----pathetic
No one should ever start counting from announcement if you *really* want to know how long it takes to build.

Sometimes things are announced way before construction starts, sometimes right before. That's a big time difference and makes it impossible to compare apples to apples.

Tho... some like to include the announcement since Disney tends to announce in advance way more so than Universal, and using that metric makes Disney look bad... which was their intent on bringing it up.

Epcot was built in 3 years flat…with practically no CAD…

It was the largest private construction project at its time…ever

But the goal was to get it done

That is not the case now. 4 years to build a rollercoaster is not a reasonable timeline based on today’s technology

I'll take jabs at Disney, Burbank, TDO, et al., where warranted, but the BTM re-track is not a "less than one year" simple track replacement job.

That one I’m not so critical of…if…if it doesn’t open exaclty the same. There is no legitimate reason why they can’t have the Anaheim blast effects…do your jobs
A track redesign is also in order…as the wdw version is tangibly inferior as well…but that is a pipe dream I’m sure

How many themed rollercoasters have you re tracked?

You really can’t comprehend that I know things about the company or the world before I was born can you?

On the flip side, Lakeshore Lodge will have been 8 years from announcement to opening. Even DVC suffers.
