The tech and polish have improved, but the show is bland now. The loss of the gags and themed sets has made the whole thing seem more one-note. I just wish we could get Vacation Hoedown back.
Great news !!!Apolgiies for the other site, but this is very interesting.
Hopefully this means this satisfies management enough to keep our bears around.

May be a question for @lentesta, but has any retheme been surveyed as “less popular” than the ride/version it replaced, especially when measured within the first year of replacement? I’m sure Tiki Room Under New Management was voted higher by guests than what it replaced. Similarly, was the current Tiki Room voted higher by guests than than UNM?My guess is almost any new show (or the return of the seasonal ones) would have been liked better than the original by the general public.

It had better! It wasn't as good as the original, but it's closer than the current one, and it should, theoretically, be easy to reprogram them now, right? Or did that electric thing not actually happen?Could the Christmas special ever return?

Prior to the refurb - possibly. It wouldn’t have made sense to program the new animatronics to an old show though, so I would say as of right now, no.Is it true that the shows (with the original show being an exception) could be swapped out with the press of a button?
With the new programming, it should be all the easier to program overlays. That makes sense as the programming for the overlays were rather primitive compared to what we have now with the bears. We'll probably never see a holiday overlay again then.
Could the Christmas special ever return?
I believe they’re hybrid, part hydraulic and part electric. Reportedly they use parts from former Splash animatronics as well.still hydraulic iirc
I assume they would do new overlays if they were to do any, at the very least to keep character voices consistent. Plus they’d probably want to remove Wendell’s gun from the Christmas special. With the new programming, it should be all the easier to program overlays.
So if they don't come about after a few years, it still just seems like laziness and excuses to me.
I actually penned a set list for a new version of the Christmas special! I figured a Frozen song was mandatory, but if it weren’t, I think I’d keep “Blue Christmas” from the original for Shaker, or replace it with “White Christmas” and have the joke be that Shaker and the Penguin are in a heat wave and dreaming for some cooler weather. I also retained a lot from the original, but swapped out some original songs for Christmas songs that match the idea they were going for (“I’ll Be Home for Christmas” fits Wendell being lost in the woods really well imo). As much as original songs are cool, I feel like a Christmas special is the one time you’d want as many pre-existing songs as possible. What songs does everyone think would be in a new Christmas special? I would bank on let it go making it in somehow even if the rest of the show uses standard Christmas music.
As a Christmas fan I need this as soon as November 1st.I actually penned a set list for a new version of the Christmas special!
