This building design looks so out of place when shown next to the other buildings. It really looks something like a hotel you would see in California wine valley, not a Polynesian resort building; placing the wood cross hatch railings just doesn't cut it.

Roughly equivalent to the VGF points for 2025.

*VGF does not offer Theme park view categories for 1-2 Bedroom villas, but does offer a 3 Bedroom Grand Villa.

Between this, the Cabins, the Contemporary retheme, and the Riviera, is this the worst era in hotel/DVC construction in Disney’s history?

Maybe buying into DVC is a really terrible idea.

Standard duo studios are about 2-3 points/night more than Riviera duo, and it goes up from there.

Preferred *duo* studio chart is virtually identical to Fort Wilderness Cabins chart. Interesting to see where Disney's smallest and cheapest one bedroom equivalent (minus laundry) is priced against a smaller Poly studio. People interested in often staying at Fort Wilderness may do well with a guaranteed week in a Poly duo and then canceling the guaranteed week and using the points to book a cabin. It'd save a good bit of money on annual fees, and if ever not using points in a year the guaranteed week in a high demand period renting a Poly duo would likely make more money than a cabin.

Duo studios have a PM category in addition to standard and preferred. Bigger rooms have a TP theme park view that is not listed as a duo view. PM is priced highest like TP. Whatever PM means it's priced the same as a bigger preferred studio, which seems crazy.

Lake view has been removed as a category, and Moorea lake view rooms appear categorized as preferred, for now.

You said it out loud...now they are going to correct that....darn it... It was like the Cookie ice cream sandwich at the main street bakery...best deal in the park....then someone wrote about what a good deal it was and shortly aftrerwrds the price went way up...

They can’t. The total number of points is fixed, so the worst they can do is shuffle the points around a bit. They can’t get anywhere near the Poly or VGF levels.

I don’t get the hate for riviera. Agreed with cabins and contemporary retheme to me does not impact the overall resort. But riviera has beautiful grounds, beautiful rooms, skyliner, great food options and it’s not a sprawling resort with 5 internal bus stops like old key west or Saratoga. It feels like a true resort/getaway for me.

And it's very, very easy to get into. Main reason why we dumped our contract in it and bought into Boardwalk. We still stay at BLT because of cheap points and ease of booking even without owning it.

A DVC rep asked if I was interested in a tour and I said no. When asked why I said it's a gray box with the least interesting rooms on property and bad point value compared to WL and BW. Their response? "Ya, it's very Ikea-esque. I don't blame you when you have those". I was surprised by the response too.

Also I think the points are locked to Riviera too so you can't move them around and resale limits.

The grounds are nice enough.

Much like this new Poly building, my biggest issue with Riviera is that it doesn’t blend at all with its surroundings. The Riviera looks ridiculous next to CBR and this new Poly DVC tower doesn’t blend at all with the current bungalows.

We stayed at the Riviera their opening year. We had a 3 br villa. I will say the room was immense, and very beautifully done. I will also say that there was no discernable theme whatsoever. It looked like any nice hotel. The "Riviera" theme means absolutely nothing. The restaurant is nice...not a stand out...not memorable. Contemporary interior...
The skyliner was nice except for the transfer to get to DHS which was ridiculous...(it was morning and the lines to transfer were nuts)...all in all, it felt very cut off from everything else... Didn't really offer anything remarkable, and we all decided it was a one and done... yes, the room was beautiful, and everything is fine... Just not someplace any of us connected to. Perhaps if they had added some real placemaking and theme to the property...if there were some engaging entertainment...I don't know... It just didn't feel Disney... It didn't feel special.... It felt like staying at any corporate Marriott hotel USA.

The poly and the grand flo never blended together either. I like looking at the Riviera last time I was in CBR.

To me also! I agree it really brought a new destination ambience place for the Epcot resort area and has helped bring an easier way of transportation to Carribbean Beach to the parks and back and also for Art of Animation/PoP for sure.

If your Carribbean room had a view of it, I'd understand, you could easily get another room in another area of the resort if that was the case. There are plenty of room areas that is tucked away if you want that Carribbean escape.

I'm just thankful we don't have to see it from Grand Floridian resort and we can experience The Polynesian still without having to see it if we wanted. Has it impacted what was once a peaceful quiet beautiful walking path with just you and the sound of nothing just of a monorail passing by in a while...yes
