Can you still see the waterproof bubbles from the ground?
Yep you can. The search lights appears to be new installs.
Here are the mini search lights.
And here is the bubble show lighting
Disney said they'll be installing a water fountain to hide them.

I do think it looks better than it has in a long time. But, somehow, I think it looked this good when MGM Studios opened; it just wasn't maintained. I don't have video to back that up though. Maybe @marni1971 does...

I've always loved that nice little touch, glad to see it back 
I don’t know how they could call this a “triumphant return” when the lights are barely visible from a few hundred feet away while the originals were visible for miles. Oh wait, that’s today’s WDI - Give you less while spending tons more along with PR-written posts on social media bragging about their technical prowess and ingenuity.

The new building lighting looks great!
The search lights are a bit weak for sure, I get the reduced energy costs getting away from the Zenon bulbs but they could have done better.

I still think the Imaginaires have done a excellent job the colors still, pop. And its very warm . And you still notice it from the other end of the street.

Doubtful. No need as that was for Sorcery in the Sky which is long gone.
I want to say all the spires were replaced a few years back which also took out the retractor.
