EPCOT New Play Pavilion to replace Epcot's Wonders of Life

That’s not easy. It’s not just a movie.

That is very true. A big part of the show is the in-theater experience. While the effects aren't that sophisticated by today's standards (and there isn't motion in the seats - just water), it's not a lift and move. I would think it would a bit easier to Magic Eye - at least for physical reasons. But, not a cut-paste, definitely.

With that, I do think it would be a good idea. They would have had a left over spinner (TriceraTop spin), RnRC and a useable theater space. This could easily be Muppets Courtyard - and become a nice buffer gateway between Sunset Blvd. and the expansion of Animation Court someday.

For the life of me, I also don't understand why Villains didn't go into Launch Bay. It would fit the theme. Meet and Greets would be out the door. And you could easily build other things to happen, let alone the preview of the land for MK when ready. (And it would have a natural expiration date once that land opened, making way for whatever the AC expansion plans would be.)

It would be amazing if they would create an engaging show about Figment and Dreamfinder...use lots of in-theater effects and create this magical experience introducing a new audience to Dreamfinder and Figment's origin story... Re-tool the interior of the theater to look like an amazing kinetic Steampunk machine...as the finale, Dreamfinder and Figment board the Dreamcatcher and fly over the audience...off to fill up the bag bound for the Dreamport....While singing the attraction's original song...
Then... a new ride based on the original Dreamport but expanded....as an "Act 2"...
When I think of the money Disney has dumped into the entertainment offerings at Disneyland... Like the Snow White Enchanted Musical, etc.... They could do something amazing here....and it would be extremely popular...

Photos from inside the project site finally leaking. Gutted Cranium Command theatre.

For placement reference, this is from the back of the dome (roughly Cranium Command exit) facing the front entrance. The steel in the immediate foreground is framing for Play Pavilion sets that never got installed. Way in the back you can see the tarps covering the front entrance doors, which is what causes the blue glow visible from inside EPCOT that many have mistaken for show lighting or projectors being on inside.

As you can see, they finished gutting Wonders but did not get very far with the new pavilion. It is still a mostly empty shell today.

Find it funny you can't post or even refer to news from other sites by name here because reasons but you can post direct links to Patrick Spikes' "Pat the Thief" posts lol
Have you tried reporting it? The two moderators don't and can't read every post.

Honestly like, just make it a giant disco ball and have it do light shows or something. I don't know. Anything but the emoji pavilion.
It would be been SO MUCH money for something that’d be INSTA-Dated

I dunno what they do with the space at this point. Big empty shell. Will be a lot of work to sick something in there.

but still cheaper than building from the ground up...and it is a greart shell to start with....But they need to do something with it... Start utilizing it in a meaningful way... a sort of Gateway to the Cosmos pavilion would fit beautifully between "Space" and "Xandar"... something to bridge the gap between to two and help it make sense....

This is exactly why we don't need Wonders to become a space attraction, the park already has two Space pavilions. Wonders deserves something original.

At this point, just bulldoze it all and resurrect this, as theming doesn’t really even matter anymore in Epcot, or Whatevercot…!!!!! 🤪
