I just want movie theaters to survive. Netflix gaining power hurts their chances.

I think that's incredibly unlikely unless Netflix decides they want to build a full blown theme park (I know they are doing the Netflix Houses, but there's no way adding HP to those would generate enough revenue to come close to what they'd get from the Universal contract).

It's almost free money otherwise. They get a preset payment yearly plus a percentage of all HP food and beverage sales, as well as percentage of any HP merchandise that was created for the parks. Once the final renewal term on the existing contract ends, they might renegotiate for more money in a new rights agreement, but I don't see them turning down a large sum of yearly revenue that requires almost nothing from them.

Plus, if the HBO series ends up being a massive hit (which is a big if), Netflix might be more interested in using the characters etc. from that more recent show rather than the films.

My main issue with the Cirque show is that the standing pre-show is longer than the seated actual show. They need to cut the pre-show down and increase the actual show running time.

Also in terms of the coaster with magical creatures idea, that’s already at IoA

Absolutely hit the nail on the head. The preshow put us in such a bad mood that it almost didn't matter what the show was. Then the show disappointed as well.

Looking at the patents for broomstick stuff I'd expect it to be quite different. Somewhere between ET Adventure and a suspended coaster is my guess. Its shown in this article https://orlandoparkstop.com/news/th...its-for-massive-expansion-and-other-projects/

It will be trying to replicate a very different experience compared to the Kuka arm system.

Although I think there is also another patent for a system closer to a cross between Flight of Passage and the kuka arm, this was the abandoned VR concept and I expect them to want to do something less of a simulator this time.

As for theme park news I’ve never been so happy to be so wrong.

Your brief description sounds like it would be a bonafide outstanding attraction and I’d hope it will materialize.

Of course this is assuming that Alicia and others are correct about this patent potentially being the ride! Personally I do think Universal are aware they need something that is less of a simulator type ride.

I think the problem is they desperately need at least one more attraction here (if we are being honest, probably 2 more, maybe even a third smaller one), and with 3 lands now, there is only so much you can do in terms of ideas for what you run around on. I'd say the broom idea works as long as it's not a thrill type ride similar to the others.

A flat ride based on the Whomping Willow could work in Hogsmeade.
A walkthrough attraction based on the Chamber of Secrets (Maybe after you've cast enough spells throughout the lands, a new area opens up)
Quidditch ride (Ministry of Magic)
Wizard Training in Diagon. (Similar to Lightsaber training at Galactic Starcruiser but with wands)
An E-ticket ride in the Weasley's flying car.

The intent of FJ is that you are flying on a broom. I don't want to fly on a broom again, no matter the ride system. Also, from what I remember, brooms hardly even feature in Fantastic Beasts. At the beginning of Crimes of Grindelwald is all I can recall off the top of my head. Anyways...I get that this previously developed ride is what is likely.

The VR Broom ride was not this big.

Yeah, I haven't been on FJ in a long time (and I didn't think it was a very good ride, mostly because the simulator parts were terrible IMO despite the attraction being very impressive from a tech standpoint), but as far as I remember you're supposed to be on a broom in the context of what's happening in the attraction despite physically sitting on a bench in the real world. I think the bench is just a way to increase capacity.
