I’m honestly a bit worried about the lion king land because it’s wide but not deep, frozen while not being large is deep so you still get immersed in it

When looking at the permits or at the model, the entrance to the LK ride is almost as far back as the entrance to FEA. I think the Lion King Land just looks shallower because it’s wider. Also a wall of greenery and trees was announced to kind of block off the land from Adventure Bay, hopefully that will help with immersion too

no i was just saying the parks are so packed nowadays they feel cramped and crowded and immersion is pretty hard to come by in those circumstances.

Also is funny to look at old pics of DL and see people did actually dress up to go out to the parks back in the day. as well as ride airplanes and stuff too! Now people wear pajamas lol

I think that what will help the Lion King and does help with Frozen is that the viewing area for Adventure Bay is subtly themed to the area its in front of, acting like a mini transitional area into the land. So whilst you aren't actually in the Lion King land yet, the area near it will be preparing you to enter the land

Lion King is an odd choice for an immersive land anyway, given that actually being immersed in the world of the film would involve being surrounded by rocks, grass, and the rolling savannah. A Lion King attraction in Adventureland, though, makes a lot of sense.

The irony is that some of Disney's less successful animated outings like Atlantis would make for more interesting lands and attractions, but that's what happens when you have an IP mandate that comes with a qualifying sales target

Im torn, on 1 hand I love LK and it deserves a major ride imo, on the other hand the land itself looks like it will be pretty barren, with a massive mountain showbuilding and thats pretty much it? Not much to look at, I agree with the above comment that LK ride would be better in another land like Adventureland or AK. There doesnt seem like theres much to do or look at besides the ride, a store and meet n greet. Also a flume beside a flume in paris where is cold/raining/cloudy a lot of the time is an interesting choice. I feel like something like Little Mermaid from Tokyo with its mostly indoors but some outdoors would be a great addition to Paris. It doesnt have a major E ticket but it has 4 rides, a theater, shops, so much to look at and explore with tunnels and pathways, and i=would be mostly indoors keeping guests dry and warm.

The best, most immersive Lion King attraction is Kilimanjaro Safaris.

This is Possibly due to the preconceived / more recent interpretation of a ride v a land? Thinking a new ride is a new land is as much an error by the public. No one goes to Ratatouille land; they go to the Ratatouille ride or eat in Remys despite it being a self contained themed area with a store and restrooms too. Disney actually emphasised Lion King will be a ride in an area as opposed to a land. As such your description of “the ride, a store and a meet n greet” is exactly what is promised. Plus restrooms. If fan forums or social media goes off on a tangent talking about what isn’t promised then that’s an unfortunate example of social media or fan forums.

Have you experienced the queues for BTM in Paris when it’s cold/raining/cloudy? Not to mention the LK ride will be predominantly inside.

Plus Tokyo handles it just fine.

We can say that expectations for fans are out of line with what has been openly promised but it still doesn’t change that “land is a well themed courtyard” is a tired idea

I was referring to Paris (although Shanghai’s area feels very much like a “land”)

I find the Lion King land in Paris amazing. I think it’s an excellent addition to Paris, but at the same time it feels like they took a piece of Animal Kingdom and dropped it into Hollywood Studios.

WDS is now Disney IP land so it’s not like it doesn’t fit

Modern WDS doesn’t even feel like DHS anymore (though I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s better or worse)

Pandora might be drop soon or later. Indy should be in the spot reserved for it since 1992!
