Best commercial I've seen from Disney in a while (and of course it's from the bright spot in their Experiences portfolio, DCL).

Nice to see they employed a puppeteer to do the performance of the towel buddy, instead of just doing it as yet another CGI animation effect.

This is part of the reason why this promotional clip ‘works’ so well.
It is an actual real performance, with a real character for most of the shots.

Nicely done, and refreshing to see.

I didn’t even realize that. It just “felt” right.

I just saw this commercial and came here to see if anyone was talking about it, Disney needs to put whoever made this in charge of their marketing department, I haven’t had my heartstrings pulled like that by a Disney commercial in years.

How is Best Western park place? Thinking about booking for there. Seems to get great reviews, I stayed a JW Marriott and while it was a nice hotel it was quite a walk and didn’t include breakfast.

Never been. We like the Westin a lot. Right on Katella and DL Drive. Short walk from the park especially when you “sneak in” through the Grand Cal entrance. Much nicer walk than Harbor Blvd too.

The location is right across from the entrance so probably second only to the on-site Disney hotels. Like many of the rooms around DL it is an older, updated, motel though, exterior entrances, small pool, if you’re going to be at the parks all day and your goal is a nice place to sleep that’s convenient to the parks it’s amazing, if you plan on afternoon swimming or relaxing poolside it’s a little less amazing.

I've stayed there and the BW Anaheim Inn many times, they are quite similar with Park Place being just a bit closer. I haven't had any complaints with the BW. It is an older hotel and won't be luxurious as the JW Marriott but the BW has been clean and the breakfast is decent (for a motel breakfast). The location is great at the end of the day or even to go back during the day.

As you already see, you're going to get a variety of answers here about where to stay. At the end of the day, a lot of it comes down to your style and expectations, and how you plan to use your time.

No, the hotels across Harbor aren't luxurious, but they aren't dumps either. I've stayed at 3 different ones and they were all fine for a mid-range hotel. From reviews I've seen on YouTube (I've done a lot of research over the years), Best Western Plus Park Place Inn is definitely one of the nicer ones.

If amenities are important to you like a really nice pool, balcony, etc., then you might want to consider something higher end like the mentioned Westin. If you're like me and go hard at the parks and only use the hotel for sleeping, then Harbor is totally fine and the distance can't be beat......especially after a long day or if you want to nap.

Regarding continental breakfast, I don't know if this hotel has it.....some do, some don't. Worst case scenario is you can walk down to Walgreens/CVS for breakfast and snack supplies. There are some good gift shops around there too (like Mickey & Me Outlet at the Park Vue Inn next door) that have a decent food selection. Then there's also Panera, McDonalds, IHOP, and Denny's right there too.

Since I stay at hotels every trip, I've stayed at 18 different ones over the last 12 years. I've ran every gambit of scenarios from being across the street to being 6 miles away. From nice to not so nice places. From being close to Toy Story lot, to using ART, to using Disney's parking. Every trip is a different scenario depending if I drive or fly, go solo or with family, and most of all.....my budget.

On a recent OG55 episode, they mentioned auditions happening for a new unannounced show coming to DCA.
If you can explain further what OG55 said but possibly discussed already here as just a new DJ position for Disney Jr Dance Party . Its the only thing posted on the official Disney Auditions page .
