After spending more time looking back at Railway recently, I can confidently say that it's my favorite ride again. I figured that it would be appropriate to share those stories yesterday for its 5th birthday!

The idea of potentially having significantly different rides based on the car you were in would have been really appealing and added with to the chaotic nature of the attraction (and the reliability of the attraction). I feel (as far as the WDW trackless rides go), Rise is really the only one that provides some variability based on the ride vehicle (the scene with the ATAT plays out modestly differently depending on if you are on the side or the front of the ATAT), but everything else is essentially the same regardless of what ride vehicle you are in. One of tye benefits of trackless rides are the potential for randomness and I wish they took advantage of this more often (maybe for Figment 4.0?)

Point being, I think it's ridiculous that any of you are defending a lazy slapped attraction with a "BuT WHicH ROw DiD yOu SIt In?" question.

It shouldn't matter. Simple as that. The attraction is not that good as a result.
Some people on this forum are still liking this post... I'd like to update... My opinion on this attraction has changed since its opening. It has grown on me...

...The only gripe I have with it that has been consistent since opening, is 1). Wrong park and 2). Replaced Great Movie Ride.

Do we know if the cast member hand print wall from GMR survived this building renovation?

It’s funny you should mention this.
I was just with a friend the other day over at Studios and was telling him the story about that wall exsisting back when TGMR was still operating.

I have been under the impression it was removed / destroyed after TGMR closed.

I agree that it works better conceptually but does it work better in practice? Like does having that human to toon world transition outweigh the superior queue at Disneyland?
I won’t argue that the queue is not great at DL, it’s a ton of classic props and references vs a few coming soon posters in a theater lobby. I do like the effect of DHS’ version though and always think the Chinese theatre is a great weenie for DHS.
