For what it's worth, I bought AP vouchers a month ago and redeemed them on 10/8, but I was given a 13 month pass.
OOOOOOO!! we will activate in December.. Here's hoping.

It was a LTO. It ended September 30th.I saw on here a while ago about AP being able to purchase same day park hopper tickets for $79. Is that a perk or was it a LTO deal?
Mine will be activated the day after thanksgiving, I was told that I will get 13 months. Hopefully that was correct information!OOOOOOO!! we will activate in December.. Here's hoping.
Your pass has to be activated before you can use any discounts, so no, you will not get any discounts on the 25th and 26th if you don't activate your passes.Mine will be activated the day after thanksgiving, I was told that I will get 13 months. Hopefully that was correct information!
My question is, we check in on 11/25 at GF.. We are not going to any parks until 11/27.
Will I not be able to apply the 20% at the restaurants and discounts on water sports before the 27th?
The 25th I have a room only reservation, no discount. Then on the 26th I have a 5 night passholder discount. Same room type so they have assured me that I won't have to move..Your pass has to be activated before you can use any discounts, so no, you will not get any discounts on the 25th and 26th if you don't activate your passes.
I take it that you have an exchange certificate? You can get it activated at DS or any park guest relations. Since you are at GF, just monorail to MK, visit guest relations outside the park, get them activated, and monorail back to GF. Yes, it's a bit of time, but will save you aggravation later. The 25th I have a room only reservation, no discount. Then on the 26th I have a 5 night passholder discount. But I am required to show my proof of the AP at check in, do they ever give temporary cards in that scenario? Or I have to go a park before I even check in?
This is the most important info I have read on this site. Thank you.I take it that you have an exchange certificate? You can get it activated at DS or any park guest relations. Could be a minute - could be an hour. Just no way to tell until you get there. If you don't already know, it's located way on the far right as you are looking at the train station. You will have to go through the bag check, but not the "turnstiles". And why not take him with you? I'm sure he'd enjoy the monorail rides. Good luck! This is the most important info I have read on this site. Thank you.
Wow, I'm glad I found out about this now. I guess I'll call and try to get a spot at Lilo's playhouse on the 25th. "Hey son, we're on our family vacay!! Now I'm dropping you off in a kids club within the first hour!" . Oh well, that's probably the better option than dragging him to wait in line at guest relations. I've never had to use them..have no idea if it will be a long wait during that busy of a day.
Ok, maybe I could go without a bag and bring him. Thank you!Could be a minute - could be an hour. Just no way to tell until you get there. Double check me but I BELIEVE you can do this all at Disney Springs new Welcome Center in the Town Square area. The building is large, has couches and tables for guests waiting to be served (no lines, they find you) and enough to keep a young kid from squirming around. I know you can buy passes, convert multi day to annual passes there so likely activate.
Thanks for the info! Any idea of the crowds on Black Friday? We are having dinner at Narcoossee's and I planned on parasailing at Sammy Duvall's earlier in the day, if weather allows..and then Saturday we have a 1900 Park Fair brunch and will rent sea Raycers. I think all of those are applicable for an AP discount, so I would like to get it activated ahead of time... If the waits are too long it may not be worth it though. Does it have to be activated before our second "check in" on the 26th?

This may complicate things. I did not buy an AP for my son, so I can't go to a park first without using one of his days.. that whole scenario seems like a hassle.
I think MK will be our best option- outside of the park. We will be doing parasailing, sea Raycers, mini golf, 1900 PF, and GF cafe, and quick service at the GF (not quite sure how or where now that Gasparilla's will be closed) during those 2 days- all of which have an AP discount I think. I definitely would like to save a few $ if possible. Not once when I used an AP room discount did I have to show my AP. If they do ask you should be able to return within 24 hours with your valid AP.
But you don't need to go IN the park to get your AP. If you choose to go to the park to do it, they all have guest services windows available outside the turnstiles (but past security usually) where you can get your AP activated. Or you can get it done at Disney Springs at guest services there.

Most WDW owned and operated locations will also accept a MagicBand with your pass on it as well as your photo ID. However third party locations usually do not accept the MagicBand since they can't scan or read it.
- Photo ID
- Yellow Passholder admission card with Mickey in an orange circle on the front
To get a Passholder admission card, go to any Ticket Window or the Theme Park/Disney Springs Guest Relations. They are not mailed out.

AP holders get a discount at Starbucks?Just to reiterate, this is accurate. Just got back yesterday and each time I asked about the discount, they asked for the yellow pass and my ID, including at Starbucks for the merch discount.
