You are correct.. I got weenie and icon mixed up. Hey, It happens. I'm old! Sorry for the incorrect answer.Correct. The theater was the weenie. The tower and the hat may have been icons but they were not the weenie.
Did I miss something, wasn't the Tower removed a few weeks ago? People keep posting on this topic, makes me think it is coming back. Die thread, Die.
I would think that all the confirmation we need is that you can no longer see the tower no matter how hard one squints. The thread will not die until we have visual confirmation of the scrap metal sitting at the yard.
Any ideas on a new Icon besides tot as the temporary icon?
I'd guess that something in the new stuff will be used, but, they are an unpredictable group there.Whatever you want it to be. If you want to be consistent with what you see looking down from the front entrance I guess it would be the Chinese Theatre. WDW is currently using TOT. Doesn't matter to me. If it's an identifiable landmark in HS, it works for me.

That logo will be departing. They like to have it on their garbage cans...Including the Earfel Tower..
Tot may be an awesome sight walking down sunset boulevard, but it is in three other parks. Epcot has Spaceship Earth, Animal Kingdom has The Tree of Life, MK has Cinderella Castle. You think of those parks with each of those things. Tot could work, but it feels like something new could spruce things up. Something needs to scream (insert new name for park).Whatever you want it to be. until they build yet another stage infront or a giant olaf figure. As long as it stands, the Chinese Theatre will always be the icon to me.
Or "The giant donut", sponsored by Dunkin' Donuts. That way they'll never have to get rid of another icon as the other three dhs has had cost too much money.until they build yet another stage infront or a giant olaf figure.
This will only be good if before a Marvel show (featuring Tony Stark) , they get a Samuel Jackson look alike to say his famous line "Sir, I'm gonna have to ask you to exit the donut"
this donut would work better than anything Dunkin would sponsor
To me it isn't an icon because it doesn't tie the park together. The Chinese Theatre does but it is a replica of a real building which creates issues for some.Tot may be an awesome sight walking down sunset boulevard, but it is in three other parks. Completely agree, that's why I hope they'll have a new Icon.To me it isn't an icon because it doesn't tie the park together. The Chinese Theatre does but it is a replica of a real building which creates issues for some.

Why? It means that Star Wars Land will come quickerI would cry at that sight. I don't want to see that!
