EPCOT Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

But what "theme" do you want them to stick to? You prefer the look of Electric Umbrella, so would you have preferred a 1990s theme? Or just some random "themed" buildings?

This is where a lot of the critiques of the new hub lose me. It's one thing to say that what they came up with was underwhelming, particularly considering the time and money involved. Whenever it gets down to critiques of the theming or suggestions for what should be there instead, though, all I can think is that these same people would have hated EPCOT Center when it opened for much the same reasons they hate what is there now.
To be fair neither the current nor the millennium incarnation of the central plaza are really comparable to the original design.

Have any insiders heard anything about current plans for the broken ground lighting?
Interested as well. The original malfunctioned almost immediately after the December 2023 opening, and it seems it took about a year to design and manufacture the proposed sturdier alternative, which was installed around the holidays of 2024. That limped along until the spring, when the screws went in. Assuming a similar timeline to produce another attempt at the same fundamental design concept, I'd guess we'd see something between January and June, but at this point, it might be better if they're just holding to push out a more extensive fix/rework

I don't think they truly designed a proper alternative, they just bought and installed new covers and hoped that would solve some of the problem

The new covers were materially different from the original installation. It obviously didn't help in any meaningful way, but it wasn't the exact same thing.

they did admit that Journey Into YOUR Imagination was a mistake eventually..... I am sure they are very aware of the overall lack of excitement about what they did to the central core.... but now it is "hey look over here! we are building something new!" instead of fixing a botched project....kind of like our current day politics....

Their "Admission" of said mistake was literally thrown together as quickly and half assedly as possible and it has now lasted longer than the original beloved attraction.

Small fountain??
if it were up to me id tear down the middle planter and all of comnicore hall and put a EpicUni style of fountain replacing that whole area with clear views of figment and pretty pathway have these things called LEDS that work. However at this rate I'll take what I can get. Ie I hope for a small fountain so I don't get to disappointed

It's a shame our hopes have gotten small.
