Are they fricken kidding!??!

The eBay auction took my photo and cropped the people out of it - but here's a clue, the clouds don't stay perfectly the same in the sky from two different people's photos!!
Merf, tell them that you will not press charges if they just give you the reflectors!

Ok, in 2000 when I first saw the Legacy monuments, I was underwhelmed, but still attempted to buy a tile anyway - of course I was there when the system was down for over a week due to someone hacking the LAL website and gaining access to information. So, I had to buy one in 2005 on my next visit. (yes, withdrawl symptoms were intense due to such a long time between WDW trips)

However, I must say without the wand, the monuments do indeed add to the scale of Spaceship Earth and other than clogging the entry plaza and causing guest flow issues, they dont look so bad now. Maybe they could "thin the herd" a bit? Move the tiles around from some of the partially filled stones to fill up strategically placed monuments and eliminate what would become empty ones to create new pathways? Not sure if that could work aesthecially with the stone profiles though. But it might be worth an effort to see if it could work. All they would have to do is to notify everyone in the database as to where their new tile location would be for those that were moved by simply having the WDW website provide info on the new spot and people could look it up on their own.

I was wondering this past week if they've already started restaging the tiles/plates on the stones.

As you can see in the photo, the fronts are full. However the backs are very bare in some areas - like 75% of the "rears" aren't covered. I suspect perhaps that Disney repositioned them, or had the forethought to cover the fronts, and we just didn't notice.

Me too...It makes SSE looks like it's floating.

Thanks for the pics Merf!

Huh? LAL makes SE look like it is being braced up so it won't roll away. Kinda like chocks for a vehicle so it can't go anywhere!
The first time I saw the original version of SSE (1983) I thought for sure it was a giant hot air balloon.
