6 in a room?

I know you are only suppossed to have 4 people in a room, but some friends of mine (ages 19-20) want to plan a trip for the end of summer. To minimize costs they are trying to squeeze 6 people in a value room. I told them they wouldn't fit and could get caught, but they say they do not care about comfort. Could they get caught and is there actually enough room for them? I think the rooms are small with 2 people in them.

By trying to pack 6 into a room you won't be able to use the EMH as that only applies to those booked into a room either. Of course:
1. It's dishonest
2. It would be PACKED

Ooh. Good call there. The two extra people wont be able to do EMH, possibly run into transportation problems (since they technically arent Resort guests) and I *think* not be able to get the Dining Plan either.

Just 3 more reasons why this idea needs to be filed in the "seemed like a good idea at the time" drawer.

Coleman Camping Air mattresses availiable at Walmart, they are guarenteed not to leak air overnight, a major problem. They also come with a great little pump that doesn't take long to fill the mattress. I use one many times a year and really enjoy the comfort, plus not waking up to a 1/2 empty mattress!

Thanks for the info! I will check those out tomorrow...

I agree with everyone. It is way too crowded, even with 4 adults. They are double beds, not queen beds and those things are small! There wouldn't even be enough floor space for the other 2 ppl plus luggage.

It is a much better idea to get another bedroom or try out the new All-Star Music Suites. If you are going after August 27 it would be Value Season. The suites would be $169 a night and they sleep 6 people comfortably.

If you decide to get 2 seperate rooms during value season, that would $79 a night per room= $158. A little cheaper than the suite but the suite does have a kitchenette.

Check out this link for more information on the suites and for pictures. They look pretty cool to me.

I just realized something about the information I gave you. If you get the regular room at the value resort but have more than 2 adults in there, you will need to pay an extra $10 per person. That is $20 extra per night so I think def. the suites would be cheaper in this case instead of getting 2 seperate regular rooms.

Also, here is some information directly from allearsnet.com: They are referring to All-Star Movies but all the value resorts are the same size and set up.

"The rooms at the ASMv accommodate a maximum of 4 people, or 4 people with one child under three who sleeps in a crib. These maximums are in accordance with fire codes. Four adults in ASMv rooms may find the stay uncomfortable. The rooms do not have as much closet/drawer space, and there is only one sink and mirror. Two adults and two children will be able to stay at the ASMv in comfort, but more than 2 adults in an ASMv room may be too much. Due to the low room rate, you may want to consider adjoining rooms. The cost of the two rooms may be lower than other options on property."

Again, like everyone said, don't do it! If you plan ahead, it won't be that much extra per person to get a suite or another room. And you'll be comfortable and won't have to be sneaky all the time. PLus imagine if you get caught!

We stayed at All Star Sports 2 years ago and we had 5 people in the room and let me tell you, it was a NIGHTMARE! Ugh.... It was my grandparents, me, my teen brother, and a 5 y/o. There was absolutely no room at all, and forget trying to get 5 people ready at the same time. My grandparents and the little one had to leave the room in order for me and my brother to get ready. It wasn't so bad because we only in the room to sleep and get ready, but still it was not fun at all. Also there will only be room for like one person to sleep on the floor....

As for getting caught, I don't think you will....but six adults in that room? Get real...

I'll admit, I'm sometimes notoriously cheap and I'd do just about anything to stay on-site on the cheap, but 6 in a value resort room is seriously nuts.

If you feel there just isn't enough money to do it any other way, think again.

Even if it means eating ramen noodle soups for 2 weeks prior for everyone involved, do it.
If your team pools all its resources, even asking to borrow just a little bit from multiple people, you'll really be better off.

Surely, there's something that can be sold on Ebay or Craig's list.
What about a garage sale?

Also, have you thought about how you're going to beat the heat sensors in the room that control the temperature? The system counts bodies to adjust the temp, and I'm pretty sure there's an alert to the front desk generated at about 3AM. You may get a rude knock at the door around 7AM from mousekeeping/security.

OK, I am joking about the heat sensors and alert, but 6 in a value room is nuts for all the other reasons mentioned.

Out of the 6 of you, I'm guessing at least one has a credit card. Hopefully, you're not all maxed out. If you are, you shouldn't be going. If not, the difference can be spread over multiple cards, if that's an issue. You'd just have to make those payments over multiple cards at the front desk.

I appreciate everyone's help, I will pass it all along to my friends. It wouldn't surprise me if they actually did have heat sensors. Disney would do anything not to lose money.
