I want disney to open a 5th so bad but all the rumors say i will be either a park with a lot of roller coasters or the "Night Kingdom" I don't wamt either of them I think that disney' 5th gate should be another park that is family friendly.

I personally would rather them continue to work on their current parks rather than open a 5th park. Magic Kingdom getting an addition in the back area(TLM ride) would be great... and then they could possible add a new major ride for Epcot, provided funds. They can also get another big ride for DHS(possible a pixar themed coaster near TSM). Then their attention can turn to adding a bit more at DAK.

I would rather them do all of this and more for their current parks than worry about a fifth

I agree with SiriusBlack. It is hard enough for us to get 4 parks in as it is! A 5th park would be just insane for our family at least. A few more rides for the little ones at DHS would be great. Epcot as well.

I agree totally. MK and Epcot, to me at least, are full-day to two-day parks, and DHS and AK are half-day to full-day parks. When DHS and AK are near the level of attractions and entertainment as MK and Epcot, only then do I think Disney should open a 5th gate. Now it's just about plussing what's already there.

That sounds like a great idea. I honestly think Rollar Coasters have no place in disney, at least not a whole park of them (just like cheesey carnival games **Cough**Chester and Hester**Cough**)

I would love to see DisneySea come to the states or at least a version of it. Then they could put the Little Mermaid ride there ;-) Also, i wouldn't have to spend an Arm and a leg to get to Japan

I think we all know that a 5th gate isn't likely to happen anytime soon. Disney will do what is the best interest to them financially, and a park geared to small children will certainly not maximize the revenue potential, let alone be an option for all those who do not travel with kids - which I would argue is a fairly high percentage of guests.

I agree with you all. I have read that the rumored fifth park would be for adults only and cost a $300 entrance fee to climb a rock wall and some other stuff. They already have so much as it is, I don't think a fifth park is necessary. I would love to see some current attractions get some TLC and add to the parks we have. If there ever were a fifth gate, I think it should appeal to ALL ages and not just adults.

I would love to see a 5th gate and I think there is something in an Adults only park but I can't see Disney going down this route. Perhaps throw a few 'adult' attractions togather at PI but not a whole park.

I think the best plan for Disney is to keep updating and adding attractions (especially at DHS and AK and hopefully something in Japan at WS!).

I agree with eveyone else. But the 4 parks need to get a little more attention at the moment, especially DHS and AK. The 5th gate will be like a 2-10+ year process.

I'm going to give the pat answer that so many others have given in regards to this topic, but it's honestly the way I feel...
...I would much rather see money spent on the existing parks than spent on a new park, although a new park would be pretty sweet...

...as long as it's not Night Kingdom.:hurl:

Night Kingdom isn't going to be "Adults Only." It will be open to anyone who is willing to pay for it. Discovery Cove is the same way.

I don't know why everybody is so up in arms over Night Kingdom. It's a boutique park that has worked extremely well for Seaworld. Disney has every right to try and create a different demographic, that being a more affluent, "experience" oriented audience that doesn't want "rides" or "shows" but an actual experience.

People are freakin' out because it's going to have a rock-climbing wall. A lot of people enjoy rock climbing. "If they want to go rock-climbing, they can do it at home," they argue.

If they want to go bowling, they can do that at home too. But no one seems upset that Disney is building a bowling ally.

I don't know what people are expecting from Night Kingdom, but I can tell that they aren't comparing it to the only comparable thing in existance: Discovery Cove. Stop thinking of Night Kingdom as an expensive AK and realize that there is a ton of potential in the concept.

There aren't enough e-rides at AK and DS as it is. I would much rather see more capital put into those parks (and the others) than another attraction-thin park. You know what I mean?

DHS is definitely getting more attractions, hopefully an e-ticket will be added by 2011.

AK on the other hand................nothing happening as far as I have heard. FotLK relocation announcement would be big news. The one in HK looks amazing.

I'm not gonna lie, I would love to see a 5th gate and I don't understand why anyone wouldn't be excited if Disney were to announce that. I mean, I'd get excited if they built other attractions in Animal Kingdom (probably the most underrated park)...I guess I'd be excited if they decided to make any new attraction...I guess I'm easily excited...wait, that came out wrong :lookaroun

I think everyone would be excited if Disney did decide to build a 5th gate, but right now it isn't logical. Disney has an opportunity to add to DAK and DHS. Both parks a close to becoming full day experiences but are not to that point yet. Not to mention the first park that has been sort of neglected. MK has not seen a new E-Ride since Splash Mountain opened. Plus, Epcot is still in need of updates for certain rides and attraction. I'm not even going to talk about the huge WOL area that is totally being wasted. In short, there are many ways to better spend the money than on a new gate.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
A) What the fifth gate will be is the least of my worries, since it won't be for AT LEAST 10 years, I hope.
B) Let's get this thread moved.
