disneyland's lay out is terrible !!!

I admit that disneyland has most of the"great" WDW attractions but, WDW's layout is so much cooler.
For insatnce: WDW has thoes big gates you go through to enter Disney World once you pass "it's all in side"
all the parks hotels downtown disney everything is in there.:D
But disneyland on the other hand is in a trashy part of town it's not connected and it's old:hurl: .
Don't get me wrong DL is cool but the world is the king:king: .
any one else fell this way?

I was lucky enough to visit DL several years ago on the final leg of a round the world trip that lasted a year (ah, distant memories
:animwink: ). We arrived in December to see all the crimbo decorations everywhere - it was something special. The escapism of the park was spoilt though by the closeness of the outside world. A ride on the cablecar soon showed us an uninspiring view over the neighbouring sprawl.

We loved DL but as Walt realised, you have to go for something much larger so you can control the immediate neighbourhood, hence 47square miles of WDW.

Thats why we are booked for our fifth visit this December:D :D !!

BTW does anyone know if there is anything planned for next year at WDW? Or does it revert to 'standard' fireworks and parades?

Don't get me wrong, I haven't judged DL yet. I'm just assuming that it won't live up to the WDW experience. How can it? WDW has 4 (well, 3.5 ;) ) parks, water parks, several resorts. DL may be the original but I just can't see how it could top the whole WDW package.
I'm sure there's all kinds of original magic, and I really do want to see the park, so please don't label me as a DL hater or anything. But WDW will always be the best place to be

You can really only compare Disneyland to the Magic Kingdom at WDW, aside from that there really is no comparison to make since Disneyland doesn't have the other parks (not sure what you would compare DCA to). It just depends what you are looking for. The L.A. area has other parks/attractions, they just aren't Disney. Disneyland is still a very enjoyable park!!

....and that's kind of what I meant. We're thinking a trip to CA would be fun, there are all kinds of things we can do out there. Magic Mountain would be 2nd on the list (DL is first), plus the ocean and all the other touristy things. So to be more accurate, I'd have to compare the entire trip to WDW in terms of total enjoyment.
I'm just afraid on the long boring flight home to NY, I'll be wishing we had gone to WDW instead. But we'll never know until we try it.

my idea of the DL 50th

I love both resorts, but since I live only a short 30 minutes away from DL. I would have to say DL is better than say the MK. My second favorite Disney theme park is MGM Studios, because it has the same type of charm that the California Park has. With the addition of DCA the DL resort is slowly becoming a westside version of of WDW. For example DCA has a mini MGM Studios with Muppets, California Screamin, and soon to be TZTOT ( I still will miss the 5th dimension room), a mine AK where we have Bugs and Grizzly river...so as people have said before DCA has problems, but DL is still the best theme park I have ever been to DCA is just a backup for not living in Orlando.

btw... I am planning to visit both WDW and DL for the big 50th anniversary... I just hope Disney doesn't screw over DL with this worldwide celebration.

My top 5:
5. Cedar Point
4. MGM Studios
3. Tokyo Disney Seas
2. Islands of Adventure
1. Disneyland
