We decided to give this place a try and made an ADR for it - whats your thoughts on the food/atmosphere and do the staff really badger you that much as I've read?

We have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the 50's Prime Time. I enjoy Dad's Brownie Sundae for desert. As far as the staff, it all depends on who your server is. Some do a great job of acting the part, some don't. I hope you have a great meal, and time.

Opinions on food are going to vary. Some love it while others say it's mediocre...we tend to feel the food is more mediocre, but the decor is so well done and the servers can be a lot of fun if you enjoy an interactive meal like that. Ex: last trip I was put in the corner for putting my elbows on the table and DH was force fed his veggies by our server so he could get dessert. The kids loved it and we certainly had some good laughs over it.

thanks! oh dear I hope they don't try to force feed me i'd kinda find that uncomfortable. Also this might be a silly question but I was reading the menu from the wdw site and didn't see what the kids meals includes, do they come with French fries or some other side? it just said things like hot dog, chicken nuggets, etc reason I ask is the youngest is so darn picky and will be lookin for the French fries

While on our adult only girls trip last fall we ate at 50's Prime Time and really enjoyed it. The food was good, not spectacular, but it was good. The atmosphere is really what did it for us. Our cast member wasn't strict or did much interacting, but I did see others (mostly families with children), interacting more and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I will definitely book here again with our next family trip!!!! Have a great time!!

You can substitute sides, I have seen a lot of people substitute mashed potatoes for the greens and such, so I'm sure it would be no problem for your daughter to get fries if that is what she wants. :)

Love 50s Prime Time and we make an ADR there almost every trip. We think the meatloaf is amazing and a good enough portion where we don't feel stuffed. The onion rings are also good.

As far as the servers, we're shy so the less over the top the server the better we feel. But yes it depends on your server. Enjoy!

The blue plate special is always a cut above the standard fare there. The bar is great as well and is one of the few bars in the parks that accept TiW card. If you don't want as much banter tell you cousin who is seating you and it will be toned back. It's honestly great fun if you just let yourself go!

To add to this yes their bar is great. Love their Mowie Wowie! And I always use my TiW here :)

I recall that one of my kids ordered the mac & cheese and it came with fries...so you should be good.

Our impression was that the food was pretty good and the peanut butter and jelly shake was really good. Apparently you can request how much theming you want although that was unbeknownst to us at the time. Or server was funny and kept yelling at my wife to keep her elbows off the table and for me to straighten up at the table. All around it was a pleasant experience.

The fun depends on the CM you get and how they play it up. We went before and the CM was fabulous, had us nagged the whole time, kept the meal entertaining. Another time the CM barely gave us a look, was buzy interacting with another table ( must have been someone she knew) and it ruined the meal for us. When we went expecting to have an experience like before and it fell through. I kept apologizing to the couple we were with because I had built it up so much. on a return trip, we again was thrilled with the experience.

The food is OK, with everything that the term implies. You're not going to walk away regretting that you didn't snag a free air sickness bag from your plane flight, but I don't think that most people walk away wishing that they could get the recipe from the chef either. The service is dependent on the particular CM. We have had some who deserved an EMMY for their performance, while others have behaved as though it was one day too many at a job that had become tiresome. I'm not really into the whole "get badgered by the people who depend on you for a tip" type of spiel, but in the end it's kitschy and fun if you just let go and get in the spirit of things for an hour. After all, it's Disney World.

We do 50's on as many trips as possible. If you do a search on this forum you'll come up with theads that have all kinds of opinions on 50's PT. Mine, I love the place and Dad's Brownie Sundae is phenomenal.

I've only been once and thought the food was better than the reviews I read. The wait (even with an ADR) was a little too long, but the atmosphere was great.

As for my server, he was nice and fun, but definitely not as interactive as the stories I heard and didn't scold us or make us do anything weird (which I was actually looking forward too).

I would definitely go again though.
