I've never been to Brown Derby but honestly the menu doesn't interest me. I can totally vouch for 50s Prime Time however since we eat there every trip. We can't get enough of the meatloaf. I can also now appreciate how funny and entertaining it is there. I used to hate it when I was younger because I was way too shy but I've come out of my shell lol.

One final note is that 50s has my favorite drink at WDW: the Mowie Wowie. Yum!!

We've done 50s twice and HBD once. While I think 50s can be a blast and some of the things are very tasty (we've had mixed experiences), I have more fond memories of the food at HBD. I think I'd go for HBD if it's the food you're interested and 50s if you want a fun experience/environment.

You know......I've never really thought about it until now but now I realize that all the lunches I've had at 50s we had awesome food but all the dinners were not nearly as good. Mainly the food in the evenings was dry as compared to lunchtime. Hmmmm?

It's funny b/c DH loved his food this last visit...had the fried chicken; however, I had meatloaf and while it wasn't awful- it also wasn't WOW! I had the pot roast on a previous visit and it was the same thing. The onion rings were also disappointing. :( I mean, it's not like me to leave onion rings on the plate...so that's saying something. The milkshake on the other hand was a nice treat!

Brown Derby is the creme de la creme, they cater to you and the ambience is relaxing compared to all the other zoo like locations. The portions always look small when the food comes out but it always turns out to be pretty filling. 50s is def fun, while the derby is upscale. My only complaint is the absurd prices for lunch time. So its not that often we go anymore, we save up disney reward points for it.

To me it all depends on the ages of the people in your party and how you feel about the menu options available. I for one would love to go to the Brown Derby but with my sons at the ages they are, I will continue to pick Prime Time as I know that they will eat and ENJOY the food as well as the atmosphere. If you are all adults, go for the Brown Derby, BUT check the menus on AllEars and make sure you will love what they offer,my picky eaters will not and a meal is only as pleasant as the children help make it :)!!

Brown Derby hands down -- there is no comparison between the quality of the food and the superb service -- HBD has turned into one of the premier on-site restaurants again, and certainly among the top three inside the parks --no comparison with Prime TIme, which I can't stand...

I've found the blue plate special is what I order at the 50's Prime Time. Believe it or orbit it's daily chef creation based on what is fresh and available that day. The pork chop I had last time I was there was divine.

Well the menu is now combined lunch/dinner so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Discussed it with DH and we're going with HBD for the food and the ADR time is better, we'll be able to make the show at 8. Super excited for this ADR, so glad it opened. I still would like to try 50s.
