We ate there last month. The food was decent, but it was almost funnier watching other tables. :) It was also interesting to watch what was being shown on the TV's. Great atmospehere, great theming!

mmm the pot roast was to die for. I loved the atmosphere. But we were a bit tired so we were glad our waiter wasn't as over the top as I noticed some of the others being.

What is the "rooted vegetable" that looks like is served with all meals

Rooted vegetable is a generic term for things like carrots and potatoes. Vegetables that grow from the ground, rather than off of a plant.

I love eating there. I've gotten the pot roast, the meatloaf, the fried chicken. I think at one point they even had a pot pie that I got. Everything I've eaten there has been great. I also like that the dessert menu is on a viewmaster. I have gotten the monster sundae that they make once and shared it with others at the table. And they made my wife eat more of her vegetables when we were there one time, so that was pretty funny. :D

Love watching the tv clips -- plus picking your dessert with a viewmaster to great! You do get scolded if you have your elbows on the dinner table.

50's Prime Time is one of my favorite restaurants. The smores dessert is the best. I also really enjoy Sci Fi, so every trip we switch off. 50's one trip, Sci Fi the other. Come to think of it, I don't know which one we did last...hmm, we'll have to do both then.

I thought it was good food but we didn't get teased by mom as much as I thought we would. She hardly paid attention to us, just like my real mom I guess! Just kidding on the last part!

We have enjoyed eating there but haven't been on recent trips. It seems more crowded than other restaurants and we've been enjoying trying different places. But it's still an old favorite. But we always call it "Mom's Diner". I have to remind myself that's not really the name.

My Experience...

It was our last night in Orlando and we decided it was best to go to the 50's Prime Time. The only problem was we didn't have a reservation and were left to seat and wait for 30 minutes, Time well spent looking around at all the different memorablia. I was impressed with those ice cubes that they put in the glasses. I witnessed a parent and a child steal one when the bartender wasn't looking. After the wait we were put in one of the tables. Waitress was very nice/rude the way there have to act out the Mother's role. The older brother passed us once or twice, same with the sister. There was three of us sitting at the table and we ordered two dishes. My father enjoyed the MeatLoaf and my mother and I got the Seafood Pasta dish, can't remember the name but was really good. One thing I can remember the most is that the napkin on our table my mother had taken the crayons and designed something and at the end of the dining experienced she tapped it onto the refrigerator. All in All it was the best diniing experience we had all week, if anyone has the recipe for the seafood pasta dish pass it my way. And questions about my post let me know.

The 50's Prime Time Cafe is a pretty neat place to eat. The food is pretty good and the service is awesome if you like to be the center of attention. Important tip though: don't eat there (especially the meatloaf) and then go ride Rockin' Roller Coaster!

When is the best time for 50's-lunch or dinner. Same with Sci-Fi.

as far as 50's is concerned, I'm pretty sure the menu is the same for lunch and dinner, I think it's the same for sci fi, but i'm not sure though.

Menu and price are the same at 50's for lunch and dinner except the dinner menu doesn't offer some of the sandwiches that the lunch menu offers.
