50 ft yetti

Maybe the Yeti will be in a 50ft high CAVERN/CANYON within the mountain and not the actual animatronic will be 50ft tall. It is very easy for rumors to get changed around as they are told down the grapevine. Just a thought. :)

Then again, a 50ft animatronic with lots of movement would be something to see.

And as far as the time spent with him, I could see this being a switchtrack section of the ride. Perhaps you stop in front of the Yeti, he supposedly picks you up, and then throws you backwards out of the mountain. All the while you are actually on a track moving to another section for the backward portion of the ride. Potentially reasonable I think.

i agree, but if you remember on the travel channels program on imagineering, it showed a huge animatronic knocking down a wall and coming toward the passengers. There wasnt any skin on it or anything, it was all wires, but it was about 15-20 ft tall. That could be a prototype of our yetti.

That was an animation of the Lava Monster of DisneySea's "Journey to the Center of the Earth" ride.

Alright guys...thought I would chime in

Not to be rude guys, but its actually called a YETI (one t)

Ok sorry for that, just had to let you know

Anyway, I made a post on the yeti a while back, as to what it is, and it had a link with some pretty convincing pictures...What im meaning to say is that this Creature will not look good standing 50ft tall...Maybe 10-15 ft, but not 50.....Im kind of getting worried if forced perspective and a little Disney magic can even make this 200 foot mountain range look realistic

while 50 feet is pushing it, it would be very kewl if Disney pulled it off...I'll just let the Imagineers work their magic on this one.

Disney has been building mountains for a while now. Look at the mountain at DisneySea and you can see how realistic they can make a large mountain of similar scale look. In my opinion, I don't think we have anything to worry about :)

The Yeti is supposedly the asian incarnation of our very own big foot. If this were o be the case, then 50 ft. is extremely large. Something along the lines of 9-12 feet would be much more appropriate.

At 50 ft. it sounds like the abominable snowman from...uh...well...whichever Christmas show it is that its in.
He's pretty big.

That would be the "Bumble" from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I was thinking the same thing. If he looks like that then I will expect him to bounce.

Maybe Disney is going to buy the rights to all of the old Rankin/Bass specials :)

"Silver and gold, silver and gold." Great, now I've got Yukon Cornelius in my head. "Bumbles bounce!"

Ouch. That's what we need in the new ride! The Winter Warlock and Bumble could team up on you! :hammer:

Perhaps since it starts in a tropical setting and then goes to a snow capped peak, we could get a glimpse of Heat Meiser and Cold Meiser. :lookaroun
