5 guests in a room

Do any of the value resorts support 5 people with the addition of a roll away cot? We have 5 people trying to go in July and we don't want to rent two rooms.

I think you can get a roll away bed for i think $15 extra a night, or you could be like my family who brought an egg crate and a sleeping bag and someone gets to sleep on the floor. Don't tell disney about it or they will charge you for the extra people. I hope this helps.

No. The value resorts are a tight fit with only four people, two of which are supposed to be children. The rooms only have two double beds and don't have the floor space for a roll-a-way bed. You'll have to get two rooms if you want to stay at a value resort, or move up to a moderateresort with a bigger room.

From what I have read most of the rooms are pretty small and don't easily accomodate 4 adults, let alone 5. If you don't want to have to rent two rooms or move up to a moderate or deluxe, you could try looking at the family suites which can accomadate 6 people.

Although you didn't say that crowding in a room would be a problem or not for you, from my personal experience I have found it to be more trouble than its worth. People fighting over shower time, lounge space, etc. It tended to make us more angry with each other and that was no way to spend our vacation.

Consider a family suite. They can accommodate 5 guests, and comfortably from what I hear. Also, if they will allow 5 people in your room bring an air mattress. I find them more comfortable than the beds at the hotel.

I think the important variable here is, are we talking 5 adults or 2 adults/3 children, or any other following combination? I know when we had 4 adults in a room at Pop it felt crowded.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think *technically* they don't allow 5 in those rooms because of fire codes. There is limited floor space, so the roll-away bed may be blocking emergency exits, etc.

Last August we had 5 going instead of the usual 4. I wasn't the one in charge of booking, but I vaguely remember something about us not being able to get a roll-away bed for a room at Pop. We opted to stay at the Beach Club, which sleeps 5 with a day bed, albeit a much pricier option. You may find you can *technically* fit 5, but it may not be a very pleasant experience!

If you can't work 5 out in a value, if one of those 5 is a child, Port Orleans Riverside (maybe other moderates?) offer trundle beds. Paying for one room at a moderate would be cheaper than paying for two at a value. Just something to consider.

If price is the motivation - Stay off-site. There are nice hotels with cheaper rates. Just remember to factor in the cost of parking at the parks.

The minor inconvenience of the short car ride, FAR outweighs the hassles of cramming 5 people into a small room. :zipit:

You're right. There are room limits for a reason.

If you can't get a suite and you don't want 2 rooms then move up a to one that allows 5 in a room. Also, when they find out about that 5th person (should you try to sneak them in) you will be charged for them.

Also, if you're doing a package with dining, and you do try to sneak in the 5th person, you would not be able to get the package for them. Just something to consider....

I strongly recommend Port Orleans-Riverside in this situation. Our family of five has stayed there twice and loved it. It has most of the amenities of a Deluxe with prices that aren't much higher than a Value. And it doesn't break fire codes to sleep five there.

My Diz Sis is @ wdw as we speak with family of 5. She says it was cheaper to get 2 joining rooms @ Pop than to get family suite. Rooms w/daybeds will fit 5 also ( deluxe resorts.)

To clarify...

Locations that can sleep 5 or more Guests:

Select Alligator Bayou rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort can sleep 5 Guests on 2 double beds and 1 child's trundle bed. The trundle bed can accommodate a Guest that is less then 5 ft tall, and less then 150 lbs. Due to their size and position in the room, trundle beds are not recommended for anyone over 9 years of age.

Deluxe Resorts
Most standard size rooms (excluding those at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney's Wilderness Lodge) sleep 5 Guests on 2 queens, 1 day bed.

Deluxe Villas
Select 1 Bedroom Villas at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas can sleep 5 Guests on 1 king bed, 1 queen sleeper, 1 twin sleeper.

Even if you're not planning to use the Dis Dining Plan, the other problem with trying to "sneak" someone in--they won't be registered as Dis guest, so that 5th person in your party will not be able to do the Extra magic hours...do you have someone who's willing to go back to hotel room while the rest of you play extra?
