44" Cutting It Close

The heigth requirements are there for safety reasons. WDW is all about safety. Don't try to by pass them. And don't argue with the CM doing their jobs when you're told your child doesn't meet the height requirement and cannot ride. They are there to do just that, their job and keep everyone safe. No one likes those parents who think they're entitled to bending the rules and causing a scene with the CM just to make their children happy. Those are the parents that when something happens to their child they are the first one to scream Law Suit!

In preparation or just excitement for our August WDW trip, I have been measuring my 4 year old daughter and shes 42". Our trip is planned for august 14 and I know by the rate she is growing she's going to just reach 44" by then. Will the give me a hard time?
It would be fun if we could experience Expedition Everest for the first time, and space mountain and mission space again for the first time in 4 years since my daughter has was born.

Expedition Everest is a pretty intense ride, too intense for a 4 year old in my opinion! But every child is different and if you feel your child is ready then you know best!

Also, don't hold out for the 2"... children don't always grow at the same rate.

The Cast Members are strict about the height requirement, and rightly so! My son was a hair too short to ride Sum of all Thrills on our last trip. The Cast Member checked a couple of times and looked at me and apologized. I said, "Oh well, next time!" to my son and smiled and said thank you to the Cast Member. The look of relief on the CM's face was priceless! Some guests must give them a hard time... which is sad! They're only doing their job and following rules!

We had the same issue. Also the height bars are set a little higher then the set height.
44 is more like 45 etc. I bought my daughter flip flops with a bit of lift in them. I had no issues at all and she was just under 4yrs old. It worked well for rides like Splash mountain
test track etc. They are pretty tame rides so I was not worried about the height issue.

Well, yes, Splash Mountain and Test Track are tame (somewhat, I guess) but what they're looking at is if the ride has to make an emergency stop, let's say on Test Track's high speed loops, and it slams on it's brakes pretty abruptly. Sure, sitting in the seat, she's fine, but slamming into a seatbelt or lap bar, while under the height requirement may cause injury.
