It appears as though the well anticipated Jet-skis have finally arrived at the Studios:

Also, laughingplace.com has provided a pretty decent new Everest update that includes this great photo that provides a close-up look at the incredible new rockwork being done:

Just thought I'd share. :)

The evac stairs along the EE track really stands out! More so than coasters like Big Thunder.

I would guess that when its complete it will be not so noticable

But dunno

it might also be that some of that will be hidden by trees etc from the "public" side (ie where the pic was taken) as when your on the ride - you might be going past faster - so you dont really see it

time will tell i guess

:animwink:

Bingo.
The front of the mountain will not be quite as visible as it is now.

seriously though, I like the logo, Lee.

Also, Lee- The drop and turn back into the mountain out front... is it going to be covered with more rockwork, or just more foliage... just curious, because from recent photos I've seen it appears as if they are extending the mountain's rockwork over at least part of that section where it re-enters the mountain.

thanks

Interesting, great update. How thick will the foliage be for EE? I sure hope they don't wimp out with budget cuts there.

One thing WDW is in no short supply of, and that is trees. I am sure that the area will be pretty much covered. I think you will probably be able to see the train come out of the mountain from a distance but not up close. But that is just a guess.

As I understand it, the drop out of the mountain will of course be visible, but then the trains disappear into the trees around the curve before rising back up into the mountain. Much like the concept art, but maybe not so dense.

I've noticed that the evac stairs along the track in the front of the mountain are already getting something done to them at the very top. I was also wondering if anybody knows what the large poles that have been installed all along the side of the helix going back into the mountain are for? Maybe it has to do with something that will in the end hide that part of the track and the evac stairs. This would make it more in sync with the concept art, which from the looks of it, appears to be dead-on with everything else.

I also notice that the main drop is getting some themed touches, including wooden 'planks' under the tracks.

I agree with pretty much all your comments and observations, CTX.. and was also curious about these new wooden poles that have gone up... maybe lee can answer this one for us?

Anyway, you're also right about the recently added wooden planks. If you look closely at other recent photographs, you'll see they're going underneath most if not all of the track.

I for one am getting such a kick out of watching this attraction grow and evolve, and especially love seeing that it appears as though no details are being overlooked. This really, truly seems as though it will be a Superb E-Ticket of that only-Disney-could-pull-off quality we on these boards know and love!

CTXRover- hopefully it will hide some of those stairs..... if it was that easy to get to the top of everest, everybody would do it........ lol, sorry had to.

imagineersrock- right there with you. i am keeping a photo record of the same angles over the last months and watching it evolve is great..... i may try to do a "flip book" concept from the same angle over the last year to show the progress. just need the time.

LEE- love the avatar
