I know this probably belong in another forum.
But a lot of people associate the ships with WDW.

"We have the designs for the new ship," Walt Disney World President Al Weiss said. "It's just a matter of waiting for a favorable exchange rate."

I don't think the favorable exchange rate is going to happen for quite some time. I'm sure they could find an American or Canadian Shipyard that will offer them a MUCH better price than what they've gotten from the Fincantieri shipyards in Italy (DAMN YOU EURO!! )

I'm going to guess that it will be a copy of the 2 existing ships.
Too bad, there were some very interesting concept ships on the newest DVD planner for the cruise line (some pretty bad ones too).
I guess having a uniformed fleet is good as well.

We went on the Disney Magic a few months after it first arrived in FL and it was one of the better cruises I've been on and I have been on about 25 cruises. The adult only pool was great, there were really "no" kids there, since there are two other pools, one with a slide. You would think that kids are running wild on the disney cruises, but that just isn't the case. The Oceaneer's Club that they can go to has tons of activities which gives the kids lots to do so they aren't bored and the characters go there for special meet 'n greets. Also, we had the late seating for dinner (8:15pm) and there were not as many young children, since most families with young children opt for the earlier 6:15 dinner time. The shows were truly fantastic, magical in every sense as you would expect from disney. We had dinner in the Palio restaurant one night and it was phenominal, the other nights we enjoyed the food too and the only night we didn't care for it was the carribbean night, food was too spicy for us. On the whole we enjoyed it and I've been wanting to go on another one, but this year aside from going to WDW, we are going on a cruise to Alaska, so maybe next year. I highly recommend the disney cruises, even for people that don't have children.

Good Choice. But becuase of the VIP suites being named the WED & ROD I don't think they will go for the Disney brothers.
Hey how about The M.E.Eisner? (kidding)

So we have Disney Wonder and Magic, what would be number 3....
The Disney DeAnimation, Disney Profit, Disney Bottomline?
... with the Eisner/Ovitz and Pressler/Harriss suites.

Our server a couple of years ago said that the next ship may be called the Disney Dream, Don't know if it'll actually be called that or not, but there's another name to throw in the mix.

I've never been on a cruise, but that sounds familiar. I think I've read that somewhere before.

If another ship does come to the Disney Fleet, I want to see them officially move out west. I don't think we need more than two ships out of the atlantic.

There are several rumors circulating that Disney has, in fact, already begun construction of one, and possibly two, new cruise ships, notwithstanding this article.

Moreover, on the West Coast seven-day itinerary this summer, there is a change to a six-day format (check www.disney) on July 17, 2005 (sounds like a special day, huh?!!). The Magic is cruising a reduced schedule because it needs to be back in port on that day for a "special announcement." It is thought that the special announcement will be just that - a Michael Eisner unveiling of the news of the new cruise ship(s) - rumored to be, as the article confirms, "Panama Canal" size and based in the West Coast/Alaska market.

Confirming what others have posted, I have been on the Disney Cruise (no kids, only adults) on four occasions. They do an extremely good job of entertaining, dining and cruising. Everyone should try one (you'll "graduate" from the three or four day to a full-blown seven or ten day!!)

From what I heard from a DCL CM whom taught my Traditions, the next ship will be the same length and width, but feature a deck or two more. The reason for keeping the same length and width has to do with the maximum length and width to go through the Panama Canal, aka Panamax. He also stated the same things Weiss did, saying the main reason construction hadn't started was because of the power of the dollar, and said that they were waiting approval from the execs.

I'd like to see Disney do a cruise ship with cabins designed for families with 6 or so people, so my family could take a cruise on Wonder or Magic.

Hmmm... should be cool. I want a bigger ship, a new one. One that can sail Alaska. Name should be Disney Wishes

I think that the ships are the perfect size. Maybe one or two more decks.
Also other names could be the Disney Dream or Disney Fantasy.
