Hey I was just reading that! Never been, and I probably wouldn't want to! It looked dirty, unkept, and slightly disturbing!

Quote from Official Website:

" The Lion is King
Explore the safari, the wilderness, and the depiction of the fabled story of this boat ride inspired by the Hollywood movie The Lion King"

They practically advertise that they're ripping off Disney!

you can check out the videos on youtube, type something like "star city disney" if you see the little mermaid one, you can hear the music from the movie in the background, amazes me disney does nothing about this... maybe we should all chip in money and create the type of disney park we want? lol

Just remember these arn`t "Disney Rides" - they are blatant copyright infringements hiding behind a knowledge US law can`t touch them. Not getting political but the conversation would be like this:

Disney Legal "Sir, you have to stop using our patented images and likeness thereof"

Park "Or else?"

Disney Legal "We`ll sue"

Park "So what?"

It`s seen as the same for buying a T Shirt with Mickey Mouse on it -made `locally` - at the local market for 50 cents.

I've actually been to that park before, it's pretty pathetic. But most parks in the phillipines are really disgusting or lame, but there's actually one that is pretty decent, that one is called Enchanted Kingdom. I went there with my family 3 years ago and it reminds me of a small six flags, it was pretty cool. The other "theme parks" in the phillipines are really theme parks at all, there just rip-offs.

I know I'm super late on this thread but let me guys fill you up with I remember with these rides and it's gonna be long

So, 2008 I was 10 years old back then and the Star City is the only and the biggest amusement park in the Manila. It was my childhood. They introduced me to Disney if I remembered correctly, my parents always takes me there ever since I was a kid. I don't remember when did they started to add the Disney ride but I still recall vividly what are inside the rides. The entrance of the Star City has peter pan in it as well as little mermaid and king triton.

Let's start with my favorite Little Mermaid. I was so amazed by that ride and now that I remember it today I realized how lame it is (except for the seat ride itself, it's a shell but much bigger than the Magic Kingdom). It's a water ride, telling the story of Little Mermaid in shorter version and yes the sound is actually from the movie itself, there's a few statues (and I thought it was an animatronics) and paintings in the walls! The water is filthy and smelly (though I don't notice it much since I was so hyped up with the ride that's why my parents always reluctant to join me in the ride. I just accompanied by my cousins or my aunt) Sometimes, the water inside the pool where the statues are located is empty (the kiss the girl part) so, you'll definitely see the statues bottom half severed and just some metal rod sticking on the floor. But when I was a kid I always thought it was the same like the one in Magic Kingdom (I always watch it on youtube back then). Eventually, they closed it and replaced with a big inflatable slide. I was so disappointed when it was removed since it's the only ride I always go first.

Next is Snow White, it was located next to the Little Mermaid ride. First of all, it was lame af. Even when I was a kid I always pass the ride up because it's just a train ride that circle around a large post with paintings of the story of Snow White! And it was slow as heck! They closed that ride and replaced it and named it Magic Forest same concept different paintings and name for the ride.

Next is Peter Pan, it's amazing too! I mean I was in awe when I first saw it. The walls near the ride itself has an amazing glossy 3D spurting on the wall as well as painting on it. It's a dark walkthrough ride. First part is the bedroom of the Darling children with Nana sleeping on her small dog house! Then the next part is the most innovative thing I've ever saw when I was a kid. We're walking on a metal walkway and below us is a small scale England! in the middle of it is the Big ben with Peter Pan and the 4 children circling around it. Above them on the ceiling a loud whirring sound coming from a black box which has tinker ball circling around while the motor inside the box is humming loudly haha. After that is Captain Hook's ship. So, there's a small stairs there and below are three mermaids in a small pond, lunging on a rock (like in the movie) and if you peek on the water, you'll see coins on the floor of it. Apparently, it's a wishing well, we always toss coins on it. After that, I don't remember much but Peter Pan and Captain Hook eventually fight and by the end of it tick tock the crocodile tries to eat Captain Hook (also, like the movie). They closed the ride and replaced it with a lame 3D AR painting attraction that isn't even working on most of the phones back then.

Last part is the Lion King, a boat ride inside a super large mountain. This ride, I couldn't remember much of it since it was so terrifying for me (I'll ask my cousins about this and update it haha).

Special mention is the Pirates of Caribbean rip off called the Pirate Adventures where some of the statues from little mermaid and peter pan eventually landed here with a few botox on it so it wasn't recognizable.

Then, 2019 the park was burned down, first investigation it was called arson but eventually cleared as faulty electrical maintenance which is nothing new for them. They re-opened again back in 2022 but it was empty, they still used the old rides that manage to survive the fire (even the one where a fatal incident happened).

Also, I saw someone mentioned Enchanted Kingdom. Just to tell you guys they also steal from Disney like their marketing designs as well as characters. They just slapped in some bright colorings so it's not noticeable.

I remember reading about this place. You can actually find videos of the rides on YouTube.

Here's the Little Mermaid ride:

Here's the Snow White ride (fun fact - at one point, a car that looks like the ones from Mr. Toad appears):

Here are two videos of their Peter Pan walkthrough:

The only video of the Lion King ride I could find is in lousy quality, but from what we can make out, it was pretty disturbing:
