The Epcot Manifesto
You are kind of making my point for me. Instead of a huge expansion like CL they were going to put one new ride and several M&G's. They realized the a bunch of Meet and Greets wasn't going to cut it and that noone cares about the Faries franchise so they added the coaster.

My point is they decided to do something great in one expansion CL and the other they decided to do the bare minimum just what was needed FLE!

Yes, but one park (California Adventure) was in need of massive help due to poor planning and design at the outset.
The other park is the most visited park in the world.

It makes sense that they would throw massive ammounts of money at DCA to try and fix their mistake while they can. They really had no concrete reason to throw any money at all at the MK, so therefore they did so at a much smaller budget.

They decided to do something great for a massive budget in one expansion, and something not as great, but for a much smaller budget for FLE.

DCA sits next door to what is regarded as the greatest theme park in the world, it's original design featured an assortment of quality attractions but no real cohesion amongst them. The major capital investment in DCA is meant to rectify that parks shortcomings: a lack of an overarching theme, and a few more high quality attractions to quickly bring it's appeal closer to that of the park that's 100 feet from it's gates.

Comparatively, the Magic Kingdom is the most visited theme park in the world and it was literally bursting at the seems. It needed an increase in capacity. The original thought was that doubling the capacity of Dumbo, adding two dining locations, adding an omnimover and several meet and greets would rectify the shortcomings of this park. It probably would have but then new objectives came into focus when they realized that "hey we're spending all this money and it's not going to attract a single male guest... let's do something about that".

The needs for the two parks were different, and I'd say with the expansions both needs were addressed. That doesn't make either park complete, but it does fill each park's most glaring need.

I understand this was needed and I even like thus version if FLE. That vein said you could have addressed the same capacity issues by expanding lands that actually needed it more.

AL: Add IJA
TL Add an E

Either one of these would have done the same thing and been better IMO.
