Very cool pics, but....there's a couple that really look like amazingly detailed models. (Rather then aerial photos.) "018 - Aerial tour - Cinderella Castle.jpg" for example. Do you know if that's the case? And if so, who did them? They're really fantastically real; Imagineer quality.

Thanks,

They are all legit, not models.

Then why is there no water in the castle moat in that one for example? And the weird flash shadows? And the speedway trees which look way too straight to be natural?

I'm not trying to say you're lying, just that a few of them appear to be models. Really amazing high quality, no doubt an Imagineer did them kind of models, but models none the less. That one simply looks completely different from some of the others.

I thought the same thing about a couple looking like models, but it's just some really strange shadows and pic quality. I'd imagine that the darkening around the edges has something to do with the age, which helps them look like they have a light shining on them.

Great pics, though, man. Whomever your source is, tell 'em they're the king (or queen) or rare WDW pics!!!

They are legit, I swear. I know the guy who took them and have spoken to him on several occasions. The guy was a Disney employee and has even written a book about Disney. They are 35mm slide scans. I won't say much more as I don't want to get DonickCo into trouble.

Sorry I forgot to say something about the moat. I am not sure but I would assume it was being painted or repaired on the bottom.

They are legit. One reason for picture distortion (apart from the age) is the type of helecopter used - look at the plexiglass cockpit windows, through which some photos may have been taken. Everything does add up to these being the real deal.

Hey, Donick!

Satellite View

Here is another version of ariel photos. Click on this link and you can view WDW from a satellite view provided by microsoft via terraserver. The images come from the USGS.

#018 looks alot like a fake model to me. No offense DonickCo but I think it's a fake photo.

Not sure why everyone thinks that particular one is fake. Why would a person creating a model make dirt marks on the roof of the buildings? It makes no sense.

The pictures are awesome, and it certanly does look questionable. The key visual element that makes it look fake is the castle. However, I've never seen an Imagineering model that depicted the collection of dirt on the roof around air ducts, conditioners, etc. Look at the roof of the buildings in tomorrowland for example, or adventureland in the bottom right corner. The strange lighting conditions are easily explained by clouds.

If #18 is fake, then #17 would have to be as well. Look at the pattern on top of the Hall of Presidents, kind of a plus sign. It appears in both photographs in the same relative position on the building. Or the red dot to the right of the right most column of the HoP - it also appears in both photos.

Could the lack of water in the moat be attributable to the removal of the track for the Swan Boat ride which had closed years before?

You guys really think some of them are fake?? Absolutely not! Disney models are very detailed but back then and even now I can tell if one was a model. They would never take time to make the rooftops dirty either. They dont put hundreds of minature people in the park. It blows me away how small international drive was back then. I would swear that where the helicopter landed is where the racerock cafe and the old king henrys feast is now. They still fly helicopters out of there.
