3 FP's per Day?

I have not talked to one person or read anything that has me excited about the new FP+ and Magic band system. Is it true you only get 3 fast passes per day? So if you have a park hopper there is a chance you will not be able to hit all the rides unless standing in line? I am just trying to get confirmation because I can not believe you only get 3 Fp's a day. I would understand 3 per day per park, meaning a total of 12 but 3 per day for all 4 parks, that is ridiculous. In addition, having room key issues and park entry problems. I understand beta testing but not at the expense of families and couples spending quality time as well as big money to have a great time.(Side note: Staying at Beach club instead of French quarter, I hope we are making the right choice)

Yes only 3 per day at one single park. So say you had hoppers and were planning on Magic Kingdom during the day and at Epcot in the evening then you'd have to make 3 FPs for either MK or Epcot. One or the other.

I am fairly certain that WDO sees us as mindless cattle that they can wring money out of...

here are the new plans for MyDining+
Dairy%20Cows%20-%20PSU%20barns.jpg

The only downside is that you have to book your feeding stall 365 days out and can only book one and one half meals a day which includes one stop at a water fountain before noon.

I am not fan of the new FP+ either. I have yet to use it, so maybe when my DW and I get to go again, we'll be able to get more than 3. Who knows?

I prefer the old paper FP. If you have a good plan of action, you could easily get and use way more than 3 FP. Plus it gives you more freedom. Book FP+ 60 days in advance? Really!?

I see the plus side of this though. Not everyone knew about or used the old system. FP+ is advertised and many casual vacationers will love it. I don't have to wait in a line. Sign me up!!

Everytime that we have gone, we were able to ride stuff like TSMM and Soarin etc. 3-4 in a day's visit to DHS and EP. That's getting there at rope drop then using FP correctly. And that's on top of multiple rides on TT, TOT, RNR etc.

Not anymore. Unless you rope drop now, or a park is dead, you will most likely not be able to ride those headliner attractions more than once or maybe twice without suffering long standby waits.

My DW usually go in the beginning May we go in September. I really feel bad for those that can only go during peak times. Going to be fun.

Thanks for making my coworkers look at me oddly as I chuckled heartily....

At least with the MyDining+ you don't have to book the restroom in advance using the MyPottyBreak+. You can just go while you graze.

well Ill be honest, my partner and I loved using them last year, however being from the UK, we mange to get long holidays. So we were there for 17 nights and manged to ride everything they did still have the paper fast passes available which we could still get as at check in we were issued with Magic Bands and KTTWC.
The only problem i found was we had a split stay, 14 nights at PORS and then 3 Nights at Animal Kingdom Kidani. At our second arrival we received another set of Magic bands, all be it we liked them, but not that much to end up with 4 Bands by the end of our trip. However everything was still active on our 'old' bands so never used the new ones, which leads me to wonder, How much money will Disney be losing/wasting on the production of the Magic Bands.......
Anyway, i am sure you'll love them when you get to use them, we had our reservations at first but fell in love with them by the end. (OK 'fell in love' is a bit much, but you catch my drift)

We can only hope that by the time the "testing phase" is completed they will at least try testing the option to make FP+'s at more than 1 park on the same day. I imagine the computer/technical side of it is easier to limit them to only 1 park, but the guest enjoyment side heavily leans to more than 1 park. sigh....maybe....the wheels turn so slowly....

As to your resort choice question - both BC & POFQ are great resorts, just different. The things (both pro & con) that come to mind right away ~
-totally different theming
-both are located fairly centrally to all the parks
-definite price difference but each is good for it's category ~ save $$ or higher price with more resort perks
-no TS dining option at POFQ, if that matters, but Boatwrights is close by at POR
-beignets are only available at POFQ; no other pool like Storm-Along Bay
-there is probably more bus-sharing at BC (with YC & BWI), if POFQ doesn't have dedicated buses during the day, they become so after 4pm
-a BC CM told me several years ago that there is actually no bus from BC to DHS, that you have to either take the Friendship boat or walk.....but I don't know if that is still true (or actually, if it was true then, though I assumed that they ought to know)
-speaking of walking, from BC you can walk to the Boardwalk, DHS, or Epcot; you can't walk to any park or shopping area from POFQ, but POR is a very pleasant walk along the river, or you can take a boat down the river to DTD

....and you probably already knew all these...;) Either one is a good choice (in my opinion). Hope you enjoy whichever one you choose - and let us know what you think :)

I know with the ticket system, we were able to have 1 FP per hour at least if we wanted!:( I guess they need to limit FP+, but why not 5? 3 just doesn't seem enough. Especially when it comes to the three, and soon to be 4, mountains at MK! The meet n greets also? Come on Disney, give us a break please!:arghh:

I'm headed down next week. I have not been able to make my reservations in advance since I'm purchasing tickets through the UCA Cheerleader Competition. I will not get my tickets until I arrive. I am very nervous about what fastpasses will be available when I finally get to link my tickets to my band. I am also concerned that we will not be able to do much on this trip since we will only have the 3 fastpasses and it will be peak spring break season. I'm just going to try to utilize extra magic hours as much as possible to make up for it. I'm thinking that we will be spending a lot of time at attractions like Hall of Presidents, Figment, and Country Bear Jamboree because we will not want to wait the long lines for the big ticket attractions.

Sounds like you have a good plan for potentially trying circumstances. Extra Magic Hours and a good touring plan for the first couple of hours can be your best friend. If you aren't able to get FP+'s for some attractions that you want, and you plan to stay for them, you might at least be able to use a FP+ for a better viewing area for the parade, Wishes, or Illuminations. It might not be your 1st choice for FP+ use, but hopefully there are quite a few FP+'s available for those, and I've read that people find them to be enjoyable locations & less crowded than outside the area.

Yeah, we went into this thing thinking oh we'll book Soarin' and Test Track on our EPCOT am and save one for Space Mountain that night....WRONG. Not only do you just get 3 per day, not only do you not get to split between parks, then they throw in that tier system at EPCOT and HS.

Fingers are crossed for manageable crowds...driving down in 15 days :)

This is hilarious...on our last trip, we were getting squished into single file line from the masses in the haunted mansion, and I couldn't help myself...I let out a loud MOOOOOOO. I swear I heard Bessie and Clara Bell respond from somewhere in the herd!
