3 FP's per Day?

I have not talked to one person or read anything that has me excited about the new FP+ and Magic band system. Is it true you only get 3 fast passes per day? So if you have a park hopper there is a chance you will not be able to hit all the rides unless standing in line? I am just trying to get confirmation because I can not believe you only get 3 Fp's a day. I would understand 3 per day per park, meaning a total of 12 but 3 per day for all 4 parks, that is ridiculous. In addition, having room key issues and park entry problems. I understand beta testing but not at the expense of families and couples spending quality time as well as big money to have a great time.(Side note: Staying at Beach club instead of French quarter, I hope we are making the right choice)

Yes, the 3 per day limit is unfortunate. I expect that we will continue to arrive at rope drop, get as much done as possible at our first Park and save our FPs for the second Park we plan to visit that day.

I am not fan of the new FP+ either. I have yet to use it, so maybe when my DW and I get to go again, we'll be able to get more than 3. Who knows?

I prefer the old paper FP. If you have a good plan of action, you could easily get and use way more than 3 FP. Plus it gives you more freedom. Book FP+ 60 days in advance? Really!?

I see the plus side of this though. Not everyone knew about or used the old system. FP+ is advertised and many casual vacationers will love it. I don't have to wait in a line. Sign me up!!

Everytime that we have gone, we were able to ride stuff like TSMM and Soarin etc. 3-4 in a day's visit to DHS and EP. That's getting there at rope drop then using FP correctly. And that's on top of multiple rides on TT, TOT, RNR etc.

Not anymore. Unless you rope drop now, or a park is dead, you will most likely not be able to ride those headliner attractions more than once or maybe twice without suffering long standby waits.

My DW usually go in the beginning May we go in September. I really feel bad for those that can only go during peak times. Going to be fun.

I was told somewhere along the way that they came up with 3 for the FP+ because their "data" showed that people, on average, used 2.8 fastpasses per day.

Um, yea, ok, sure. They've got some tweaking of the math to do from the posts I've read with standby lines not moving because the FP lines are the longer lines now... Hopefully, as the numbers come in from more 'testing', they'll be able to tier the rides better and smooth out the process.

I hated the old paper system. Running around the park grabbing FPs was exhausting and stressful. I much prefer to have wait times and FP times on my phone.

What I hate about FP+ is the tiered system and the inability to park hop. Also that you can't use all 3 selections on the same ride.

I prefer the new system overall, but I am hoping for tweaks.

Okay, how about a different opinion and view point. Have you ever gone to the Parks and not been able to get a Fast Pass? You weren't the first in the Park and the Fast Passes for the ride you wanted to ride are gone or were for 6 hours later in the day? Maybe, just maybe, Disney is thinking limit the number of Fast Passes per person and maybe more people will be able to enjoy a few of their favorite rides. Note, the new method is still considered to be in a testing phase changes can be made. When I went to WDW in January, things worked fine.

2 notes:

Rope drop always works for early rides and then just FP in the afternoon.

There is a current survey about possible additional FP per day- start holding breath......now!
