They appear to be “ramping up”

That’s the vaccine progress...period. They see things getting more back to norm in 3-6 instead of 2022...if I had to guess.

Still: don’t overpay for your rooms and tickets. Don’t be fools.

I am not. Won't be getting my pass back until 2022 at earliest. Especially with Epcot under construction and so many projects delayed. You're not getting the full value of your $600

I have a fully paid for trip coming in August if things really improve that much. I will lose DVC points, airline credits and I’m not sure on rolling the park tickets any further if I don’t go. Only thing I’ll be spending is money on food. Not that that’s insignificant.

Full disclosure: I have one in four weeks. We weren’t in the market at all 1/1...but our entire inner circle got vaccinated or will be over the next two weeks. I completed my sequence last week (which also confirms to me I had it last year from Orlando in January...but that’s another story).
We debated it....then just decided to get out of town. I have no real defense other than one of my kids is at the crush point in school and I put that over the still present health concerns.

Now that being said...I’m partly curious just to go to see the great pandemic experience. I’m interested how it goes there? I’ll maybe report it.

But I’m on points and took the DVC “offer” on tickets right now. Which is a violation of my own rules because they’ve mismanaged the parks and reinvestment and I only begrudgingly get APs when the deals are good.

Now I will look to that again. Don’t tell me everything is great and Jack prices...cause it’s not. They still need me more than I need them. Never forget that.

The jetskis are still on backorder.

Dude, that's a couple of crazy coincidences. I'm going down in five weeks and I'm ALSO convinced I got COVID in Orlando in January. My wife and I were at the Wilderness Lodge for a quick getaway before baby #3 from January 10-14 and when I came back, I was on my sick for about three days. I could actually feel the infection settling into my chest as the airplane changed altitude on the flight home.

It does seem that all the major operators are more bullish for the coming summer/fall season. Epic Universe rebooting, Disney advertising Moana rooms and testing the Lagoon monstrosities.

Enjoy the trip. It’s surprisingly manageable if your expectations are tempered. That said, we have done it twice and won’t go again until more comes back. Only because now we miss what’s missing more than enjoy what’s still there. The mouse has a deposit of sorts from us within the DCL silo, but that’s a whole different beast we won’t justify until it’s 90%+ full bore.

Still, we’re contemplating Universal for a quick HHN trip now that the kids will be older.

Good luck! I just can't see forking over the cash right now for a "restricted" experience. And I'm not single-ing Disney out for this -it's all parks and even local entertainment venues like casinos (let alone Vegas). I tried a local casino a few months back and they were serving cocktails in plastic cups, plexiglass dividers between you and the black jack dealer and you and everyone else (smoking is still allowed tho... so there's that)
At least in Vegas they've tried to reduce prices somewhat to be commensurate.

Long story short...I had persistent symptoms in early February after going to USO last January. But the symptoms were not respiratory.

I actually went to the ER on 2/12/20!and spent the day getting tests. Full CATs...pneumonia, mono, flu...

Nothing...all negative.

But I had the same bizarre symptoms for two days after my second Pfizer shot.

Bingo. That’s it.

Yeah...I hear you.

It’s more the change scenery than anything.

But I worked there in middle management...my kids have been there in excess of 25 times...if it’s crowded, we just leave the parks...skip rides that aren’t interesting that day.

I love to just BS at the bars and kill time....restaurants are more important than any stupid parade.

So covid doesn’t throw too much of that on its ear.
