Every year we think about going to Le Cellier but for whatever reason ( adr not avail, change in plans, negative comments from forums..etc) so again we are thinking about going this summer...convince me this is a restaurant we dont want to miss again.

Hmmm!

Well I think were in the minority as most people give it the thumbs up.We had five ADRS in our last visit two years ago and Le Cellier was our least favourite. My sons fillet steak was small, tough, and tasteless, our cheese soup was the highlight of the meals. Our signature fillets were so disappointing.By all means give it a try but don't set your heights too high.:lookaroun

I am in the same school as you. I don't find it to be any great thrill. (or decent steak for that matter)

Thumbs up!

Well, way up, actually. Went there for lunch last year, and it was so good, we can't wait to go back! Not sure if it is worth it for dinner(they had just switched to Signature for dinner, and with my DD being such a picky eater, didn't think it would be worth it to try that), but everything you have heard about the cheese soup and pretzel bread is true! Split the burger and soup with DH, and it was more than enough for the 2 of us. All 4 of us split the chocolate "moose" that the waitress brought out for my birthday. Yum all around.

It is a nice enough little restaurant, and it would be a place in which to dine from time to time if it were in my town. It is not, however, worthy of the praise and adoration that is sometimes expressed by others. It is also not worthy of the effort needed to get an ADR. Just an opinion.

I tried and tried to get an ADR there to no avail. While walking around EPCOT when we finally got there, we decided to go to the Canadian pavilion and I figured I'd give it a shot and see if the two of us could get in. SUCCESS! We got seated right away and it didn't look too crowded in there. This was at about 5:30-6 on a Saturday. We absolutely loved the food. From the pretzel bread to dessert, not a complaint. Well, she wasn't a fan of the risotto that came with her filet, stating that it was too rich. Rich food doesn't agree with her stomach. But everything else was fantastic. I tried her risotto and thought it was rather tasty.

I guess my one complaint would be the price. The food was really good, and second only to our Yachtsman steakhouse meal. But for two people to eat and spend over $100 after tip with no alcohol seems a bit steep.

We loved it in October 2009 for dinner (before it was Signature). The steaks were delicious, and we loved the famous pretzel bread, cheese soup, and gorgeous desserts. I will say that my stomach wasn't too happy when I ran the Tower of Terror 13K race an hour later! :ROFLOL: But I sure enjoyed the meal!

I just went for the first time in December and I loved it, best filet mignon I've had in WDW. I don't even honestly know how bad the price is (I went with my grandparents who paid), but maybe going for lunch would be a good idea since it'd be a littleee cheaper.

I am headed there in July for my honeymoon... and I have mixed emotions, it will be the first trip for myself to Le Cellier and reviews are mixed.

More so than reviews, I am worried about my expectations...

I certainly don't mind spending money on a prime piece of beef, as we frequent Smith and Wollensky's here in Boston and that is my biggest fear. I just fear spending 100+ dollars on a crappy meal.

Personally, given the options in the area, I wouldn't pick Le Cellier. If you are looking for a steakhouse I prefer the Yachtsman over Le Cellier. Others also claim Shula's is pretty good, but I heard from two separate groups over the last couple of months that the quality there has slipped.

Gone Down...HILL

Wife and I usually made Le Cellier our normal stop for our anniversary dinner.

1st year we were there in Dec with a magical gathering group of folks we traveled with. IT WAS AWESOME! This was not our anniversary, but it was very very good and we made future plans to go during future vacations.

2nd year wife and I attended it alone for dinner/anniversary and found the service down.

3rd year wife and I gave it another shot for dinner/anniversary. Nobody even acknowledged it was our anniversary. Our drinks were empty most of the time during dinner...and we opted out to NOT have dessert based on the even lower service.

NOTE - only 1 time - in Dec we were on the DP. Rest we paid out of pocket. And the place was not jammed to where you’d think service should be a concern. Yes they were busy but at the price it costs…no excuse.

This year we are done and not going back. Plenty of other steak houses and new dining experiences that won't cost you the same amount of cash - off property if needed.

That said last year we tried Via Napoli for the first time and we were blown away! We plan to go there at least 2 times this next trip – May 2012.

So ONE country's loss is another’s gain!!! Least in the WORLD SHOWCASE anyway... lol

I hear ya but for 2 adults @ $165 USD plus gratuity for poor service? That was hard to swallow.

We were treated very good while we ate our salad and pizza in Italy. ;)

ah yes, I suppose when entering the wine.

As a rule of thumb, I never drink wine at dinner... markup is over 100% and restaurant often pays for the bottle on one glass.

Wife had 2 glasses of wine, I had fresh brewed ice tea.

Everything there is marked up...quite a bit.

But to each his/her-own. It's all good!

ENJOY!

let me say this about le cellier:

the level of your enjoyment is completely contingent on how good your server and seating location.

of course, you'd say, "sure, that's essentially true of any restaurant," but bear with me.

for the money, would you be better off going to cali grill or citrocos or the yachtsman? probably. but is le cellier still good? yes. the cheddar cheese soup alone is worth trying. why the experience is steeped in such volatility is because A) there's not a ton of room in there, so it's very likely you'll get stuck in bench seating area. maybe even next to a crying child. and...there's really no escape if that happens. B) it's not like the atmosphere MAKES UP for any shortcomings. it's nice in there, but it's...essentially a cellar. and C) if you happen to get stuck with a bad server, you're in a small, dark restaurant...with bad service.

quick anecdotal story from my honeymoon last august. we got stuck in that bench seating set up, right next to a family with two small children (no judgment people with kids. i love them, but you're super close in le cellier, so we were worried we might get an up close view at a tired child. these two boys were super well behaved). so we...were pessimistic. but our server was amazing and it made the meal.

i know le cellier get a bad rep at times for being overpriced and small, but i do think it's still worth it if you're looking to try something new. just hope for good service.

We've eaten there and really enjoyed it. Now that they've raised it to two dining credits we don't see that it's worth it. We'd much rather spend our two credits at the Hoop Dee Doo! I'm probly gona get slammed for this one.

If you are on the dinning plan, do not go there for dinner. It is waste of 2 credits. I know people went there for lunch and dinner there. They claim there was no difference in terms of food and potions based on what they had. They said dinner was a waste of 2 credits.

I went to LeCellier since they changed to signature, but I go there for lunch. It is very good for one credit.

I enjoyed Le Cellier, but on that note the service was good, the food was really good, filet was cooked perfect and cheddar soup was great. If I had my choice though I would go with the Yachtsman, but I still would certainly go back to Le Cellier.
