25th Fireworks tag Review

CrashNet; roughly what time is barge deployment? I`ll give it a go, without keeping the bascule bridge in sight for an hour or two. Thanks for the info, BTW. When I first figured we could make it over for the 1st, my only real hope was for an ROE Tag and hearing WJBTD played out loud. Dreams coming true and all that...

Usually the barges get put out around 3:00~3:30 range.

So early? I must have missed them in `01. I remember IllumiNations being set up about 6pm in `90, and this was considered very early. If only I remembered more of Laserphonic...

I guess if I miss the deployment I`ll be able to count the extra barges anyhow. And hopefully see a protrusion on SSE :D

In answer to some of the questions above, this is apparently a one time only tag, showing this Monday only.

Yeah, I'd say between 3:00 and 3:30 because the Earth Barge is usually in its dock by 4:00.

Just to add to the extra barges location, I know that at least 1 small, flat barge is visible in Mouse Times 4th of July 2006 video. The video is taken from WS Plaza and the barge is located between 2 Maxi Barges. It is not one of the regular RoE barges.

Hey Marni...that would be great! 3:00 to 3:30 is a time to start looking. The 8 perimeter barges will come out first, followed by each Maxi barge, the Inferno barge, and the Earth barge (this is standard deployment during normal nights). I've never actually seen the other barges up close, but they will all be deployed at the same time. 3:00, if you are willing, is the best time to start hanging around that side of World Showcase, just keep in mind if you want a good view you'll need to be on the Africa/Germany side of the bridge.

Actually, they seemed to come out in a different order today...it was my first time seeing it, but yeah, that's close to the right time.

The Peace on Earth tag is much better than Reflections of Earth itself.

You would prefer that they just do the PoE tag than RoE? Hmmmm . . . . . or maybe I read that wrong?

It would be great if they continued the 25th tag for the whole month of October!!

anyone listening that can make that happen? :lookaroun

on more days would be nice.

Yes, but, I can see why Disney is only doing it one night. The 25th Anniversary of Epcot is really only being celebrated by hardcore Epcot enthusiasts, and is no where near the scale of celebrations like 100YOM, HCOE, etc..,.

I'm willing to bet that everyone with the exception of people like us will have absolutely no idea about the fireworks that night, and be confused as all hell when they see the retro maps.

I agree, as much as I love RoE, every time I go to see the PoE tag, I find myself kind of hoping RoE would hurry up and finish just to see that absolutely incredible display.

My date time from my camera says I took this picture at 3:48 pm, so that is the correct time frame...
Earth Barge very close up-

Edit: I suppose it could have been 2:48 if I hadn't changed the clock, and it doesn't change itself.

I`ll see what I can get. I did get the barges returning to the canal in `01 - a sight to behold!

At the very least I`ll get everything set up in daylight, as I`m sure a lot of people will :D

Martin, I am looking forward to trying to coordinate my 2 cameras and audio recorders with all your cameras and mics, and everyone elses cameras, tripods, etc....
seems like our cameras will have front row at the desert party, with us behind them! :p

Matpez; it`ll be like a film premiere. I`ve had identified a show speaker I can use my DAT recorder and external mic on - along with someones else recorder - and I`ll have my DV cam with wide angle lens for the show. My stills camera will be in it`s (very good) movie mode, framing the earth globe and SSE - assuming I find a space to fix its table top tripod to!

Steve - I`ll use Michelles camera to grab a few pics. It`ll be like KSC on launch day

Well, once I saw them coming out at 2:50, and once I saw them coming out at 4:00. Outside of that, it has always been in the 3:00 ~ 3:30 range when they start. If I were to guess/bet, I'd say look for them at about 3:00. Most of the time I have seen them coming out was quite close to 3:30, but with more barges, I would somewhat expect them to start a bit earlier. Somewhere I remember hearing that sometimes they have to send divers in to check out the barges and determine they are completely secured. (I almost said "securely secured" :brick:)

Anyway, I have seen them come out many times, and I have a whole boatload of high-res images of them being deployed somewhere. Not sure what I did with them. If I find them I will try to post sometime, but I have trouble believing this is that big of a deal. (Though evidently it is to me, since I took like 100 high-res photos of it. Hmmm...)

Hopefully somebody can get some photos of the (non-believer/hardcore fans) staring at disbelief as all of these cameras are being setup for an "ordinary fireworks show". ;):hammer:

(Remember, to people visiting just because it is when they randomly chose their trip, this is not a special day to them.)
