24 takes place in "real time" Each episode is one real hour in the day of Jack Bauer. In the 2nd season, Jack is trying to stop a nuke for going off somewhere in the city of LA. This is the greatest show currently on TV, IMO.

Wait until The Shield Season 2 starts up, then it will be the best again!

I haven't checked out 24... I'm into Third Watch and Smallville. What else is it about? Is he a cop?

I LOVE 24!!! We watch it with 2 other couples, rotating houses. It's not like a regular tv show- more like watching a movie, an hour at a time.

My wife loves this show. She says last season was awesome, and keeps trying to get me to watch it. I watch a little, but for some reason it doesn't hold my attention. She loves all of those kinds of shows. BUT, this is her absolute favorite.

She wants to know what the abusive dad has to do with the whole terrorist plot. Anything?

:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: for 24!!!

There are not 24 in an hour, but 24 in a season. Each episode is 1 hour of the day. Commercial time is accounted for so that the time is exact.

So really, by the end of the second season, only 2 days will have been televised.

Yes i loved the show.

I missed the first season but rented it at blockbuster so this seaon is weird watching it with all the commericals.

But Season 2 is just as good if not better. So many story lines going on at once. You never know what going to happen next.

So...are you saying that if you rent it at blockbuster...it's a 24 hour long movie? *scratches head* that's a lot of time...I hope they give you more than 2 days to watch it

Well without commerical there about 45 min each and you rent only like 4 eps at a time. It was worth the time it was a great show .

That's what I'm afraid of  I'm just thinking...if I was to buy it...how many times would I actually watch it??? It is a 24 hour movie (give or take for commercial time)

Well, it probably wouldn't be much different than buying a season of The Sopranos or any other hour long show.

My advice: Sit down on Tues and watch the show! There is a recap at the beginning so you at least know what is going on, and once you start watching you will figure out who everybody is. I didn't watch it every week last year and I did OK.

Even better- the web site has episode guides, character profiles, etc so that you can jump right in.

great advice from an expert...I was afraid that I'd be lost if I just hopped in now. I'll give it a shot
